So, I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and Watch 8 with some slight scratches on the glass screens.

They are covered by AppleCare+. Is there any trade in benefit to my getting the scratches fixed now? Just wondering if getting them fixed and paying the deductible will increase the trade-in value for the new models?

Scratches are considered cosmetic and I can guarantee they are not included. Accidental damage is if the screen cracks, shatters etc.

AppleCare + doesn't cover cosmetic damage. It even states that in terms/conditions:

4. What is not Covered?

4.1 Hardware Services and ADH Services

Apple may restrict Hardware Service and ADH Services to the country where the Covered Equipment was originally purchased.

Apple will not provide Hardware Services or ADH Services in the following circumstances:

(a) to protect against normal wear and tear, or to repair cosmetic damage not affecting the functionality of the Covered Equipment
