Is anyone else experiencing their iPhone 14PM heating up while watching "Reels" on Facebook. I can watch a few and all of a sudden the back of my phone as well as the front starts heating up. his just started a couple of days ago and my partner has the same phone, but his never heats up.
My 14 pro does the exact same thing. I can watch other videos and it’s fine. Only heats up watching Reels

Hi guys, I have the same issue. iPhone 14 pro max heating up badly while watching fb reels. I’ve tried a hard restart on the phone this morning seems like it’s much better already. U guys can try it. Volume up, volume down and hold on/off button then slide to power off.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro and experiencing the exact same issue with any type of Facebook video. Sometimes it gets to the point where it’s hot and the videos start lagging behind the audio. I was still running an early version of iOS 15 so thought I’d try updating to iOS 16 but it hasn’t helped. So now I’ve ended up finding this forum post I’m glad I’m not the only one experiencing it, as it seems likely to be a software/app issue rather than a hardware issue.

@Peterpeter I just noticed there was a Facebook app update available, so I just downloaded it and have watched a few videos afterwards and didn’t notice it heating up. Hopefully it’s a good sign that it might be resolved with the app update, but I guess time will tell.

I did the FB update and it didn't do a thing for me. Good luck!

Yeah upon a longer period of watching Facebook videos, it’s definitely still heating up and also getting the laggy video issue. That’s annoying 😠

Same thing happens to my 12 when watching IG reels. I’m like “I’m only watching video, not playing a graphically intensive game, why is this thing heating up?”.

A quick update on the heating issue of my 14pm. Ive updated fb + 16.1 and all is well. The phone dosent heat up anymore on the top left side n the screen no more..✌️✌️.

Lets hop Apple fixed it in the 16.1 update.

For the first phone how hot did it get, was it warm, really warm or hot and how long did it take to get into that state, because I am having that issue when I am using Instagram for 5mins+ watching reels and it get warm.

It got hot enough to set the phone down.
