Hey all

I noticed today that my silver iPhone 14 Pro Max has an imperfection, just wondering if anyone else has it…

Basically it’s like a dark shaded line running across the stainless steel band, it’s near the bottom left above the antenna band, it can only be seen in certain lighting so not going to bother making an issue of it but just wondering if anyone else has noticed it.

Hey,
I totally understand your concern. I have been through 2 iPhone 14 Pro Maxes and even my third one has a slight cosmetic defect and I guess I have to live with it. Imperfections are becoming more common with the release of new iPhones. Unfortunately, it is one of the side effects of mass production. It can be hard to quality checks millions of phones for imperfections. However, that should not be an excuse for receiving a product with major cosmetic imperfections. I believe Apple should focus on improving their standards and ensuring the possibility of any damage is reduced during the production. If you are not happy with your iPhone, I would consider taking it back to Apple Store and getting it exchanged. These are expensive devices and not cheap phones, so there is nothing wrong with you desiring a flawless product. Hope this helps. Have a good day.

I don’t think I am going to bother with a return for such a minor flaw, just was more interested to see how common it was more than anything

Just received my replacement iPhone 14 Pro Max device this afternoon thank god no dust under screen/camera and dead pixels or nicks and dents my first launch device had two small nicks on the side and a dead pixel....
Hate playing the phone lottery so time consuming...

Yeah that’s why I am not bothering going through the trauma of returning for such a small imperfection which I could potentially buff out with some metal polish.

Both 14 Pro's use Samsung displays exclusively...
Not true. 14 Pro uses Samsung ONLY, while Pro Max uses both LG and Samsung.

If LG has actually solved their "technical difficulties" in providing 12% of the Pro Max displays they had to pass the same quality standards that the Samsung displays were subjected too for Apple to use them... Do you have any data that shows LG's QC is not on par with Samsungs besides your opinion? I know it's not the same comparison but I've owned several of each manufacturers tv's and LG is every bit as good as Samsung (I actually prefer the blacks on the LG) as far as the displays go. I do prefer the Samsung interface (can't stand using the LG pink pointer) but the screens are both excellent.

Samsung was always kings in phone OLED market. Also I'm reading much more issues with phones using OLED from other brand but Samsung... that's why they never had big market share - they struggled to make quality panels. I own many phones/devices with Samsung panels and none of them had pixel issues.

You obviously never experienced or noticed green tint Samsung oled panels across many android and iPhone devices over the last few years then.
