So a 20% thinner bezel translates to an 80% greater chance we will see a battery percentage indication.
An acceptance that they are okay losing out on all the revenue they get from the “made for iPhone” mFi program for lightning.Makes no sense why Apple is not include a USB-C port on an iPhone. What’s it going to take?
I'm holding a phone right now with virtually no bezel and my hand only touches the edges, not the display.I’m sure folks won’t like me saying this, but I don’t think they should be thinner. They’re already thin enough, otherwise I feel like I’m gonna erroneously and accidentally press things even more on the display than I already do.
So they’re promoting the phone protective case market, not designing for proper usage.I think it’s fine. Because the super majority of us will just add another level of plastic bezels around the phone anyway.
I’m looking at my phone as I’m typing and noticing how thick the shell is and it’s basically a second bezel.
they have been boring for 5 years now. What a boring update.
Get used to it.What a boring update.
Dreaming sadly. I’m going to get a 13 min once the price drops or I see a good deal. Can't wait for the iPhone 14 mini!?

Nobody seems to be discussing the fact that the diameter of the cut out (5.6mm) is larger than the height of the current notch (5.4mm), and it’s 2.3mm from the edge. So the new design will cut into full screen video an extra 2.5mm. Also, 2:1 video (e.g. MKBHD, LTT) will be impacted, while currently it perfectly aligns with the edge of the notch on standard size models.
I’ve never accepted the notch as anything other than a kludge to fill the years between the X and under display cameras becoming viable. I hate that I can’t see battery % or headphone status without swiping down. I hate that 21:9 video is either asymmetrical or tiny. But I accepted it because no significantly better technology existed in 2018. Well now better does exist - in China, with the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4. I figured I’d stick with my XR until either Apple significantly reduce the impact of the notch, or under display tech makes it to a handset available in the west. With this development, it looks like Apple are actually going in the opposite direction, and choosing to cut into my content even more. I don’t want to defect, but it’s looking more likely each year.
But you like the battery life I’m willing to guess. The phone itself needs to be a little thinner and lighter..
I have the 13 Pro Max and the thing feels too bulky and even a little dated to tell you the truth.
I’m not happy with the bulk and weight.
That’s what Apple will tell you!Excited to hear more about iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max. Looks like it is shaping up to be the best iPhone to date!
Is this reduction also to be included in the iphone 14pro - 6.1" ??
The iPhone 14 Pro Max will feature 20 percent smaller bezels around the display, according to newly shared CAD renders.

The CAD renders, shared by the Twitter account "ShrimpApplePro," show a design for the iPhone 14 Pro Max that is broadly in line with other illustrations and measurements from 91Mobiles and Max Weinbach. Much like these previous renders, the most noticeable changes include a centered pill and hole-punch shaped front-facing TrueDepth camera array in place of the notch and a larger rear camera bump, but otherwise the design seems to be very similar to the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro. The renders are accompanied by a range of specific measurements for different aspects of the device.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max's bezels will reportedly be 1.95mm thick, a moderate reduction compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max's 2.42mm bezels. One reason for the reduced bezels could be to make more space between the top bezel of the device and the top of the new pill and hole-punch cutouts. With these reduced bezels, the top of the cutouts will purportedly sit 2.29mm below the top bezel of the display.
The extent to which the reduced bezels will have a noticeable effect on the front of the device is questionable. Last year, users debated whether there was a difference between the sizes of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13's bezels, but measurements taken by Quinn Nelson suggest that the bezels around the iPhone 13 are indeed slightly larger than the bezels around the iPhone 12, so it would not be unheard of for Apple to slightly change the thickness of its bezels even on devices that ostensibly have the same display sizes.
Nevertheless, a 20 percent reduction on the iPhone 14 Pro Max is likely to be more noticeable than any change between the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models, but it is worth noting that these measurements do not include the 1.15mm thickness of the stainless steel frame that sits around the display, which could make the change look less drastic. The reduced bezels are likely also too small to change Apple's marketed 6.7-inch screen size, even if the actual display area is larger in reality.

I’m not asking for a super slim with compromised battery, but this (13 Pro Max) is too much.it’s uncomfortable and cumbersome to use,and I feel it more than before and never got used to it.But you like the battery life I’m willing to guess.
You're not looking at the big picture. They will come up with Apple iHands(tm) you can purchase at the small token cost of $999 to be able to use your phone. No point living with your obsolete normal hands anymore.I’m sure folks won’t like me saying this, but I don’t think they should be thinner. They’re already thin enough, otherwise I feel like I’m gonna erroneously and accidentally press things even more on the display than I already do.
