Hi to all, who still use their 14P/PM. How do you think the device aged? It was the one which felt so quickly outdated after the release of the 15P/PM: No Apple Intelligence, last iPhone with lightning. Was not able to run latest games which were release less than a year after like Resident evil 4.

- Still feels very heavy but also feels very robust
- Very reliable
- No negative impact of 6GB in everyday use
- Battery life is 83% and still is more than enough for me
- I still only own a few USB-C devices so no prob to carry a lightning cable with me, still like the "lightning click"
- The 48MP camera still takes very good pictures.
- Is in mint condition
- Don't miss apple intelligence
- Still on iOS 18 which runs very snappy
- like the color "gold"

So for me, may 14PM aged much better than originally thought and I will keep it for more years to come. What do you think?

I reckon you’ll find that all iPhones have aged very well. Even the 6S/OGSE are just about usable as daily drivers if push came to shove. I am typing on this message on an 8 (which is my secondary phone as my daily driver is a 17 Pro) and I could easily get by with it being my main phone.

14PM Space Black, 83% health here also after over 700 cycles. The Dynamic Island that debuted on this device has been my favourite feature, and something I get a ton of use and interaction from on a daily basis. AI features are of no personal interest. The device has been solid and runs iOS 26 just fine. My next iPhone will be the Air when it becomes a need. I am really satisfied with my iPhone and can easily rock this for a couple more years to come. Waiting on the gen 2 Air to see if it sways me as I love the form factor. Feature wise, there is nothing the new iPhones do that I personally need to justify spending on an upgrade.

I’ve just got myself an Apple certified refurbished 14 Pro in silver which I set up last night. It looks brand new with a new battery that’s at 100% health.

I’m not sure what software version it shipped with as I had to update to iOS 26.1.2 to be able to transfer data from my iPhone 17. When I powered it on it was showing the blurred out stock 14 Pro wallpaper, maybe this means it was on an older software version? Not sure.

During the software update & setup process it did get very warm, and it was a bit choppy whilst all my apps downloaded and installed themselves.

I left it overnight, just 3% battery drained whilst sitting idle all night. This morning the speed and smoothness is surprisingly excellent, I was expecting a bigger gap in performance from the iPhone 17, this is a testament to the A16 SoC.

Swiping around, opening apps etc is still very fast for a 3+ year old device.

One other thing is that it looks & feels very premium with the polished stainless steel and glass design.

For anyone wondering why I’ve got a 14 Pro from an iPhone 17… laugh if you want 😅

Recently my mortgage has gone up, I’ve lost my job and have had to heavily reduce my monthly outgoings in a few areas, my phone contract one of them.

I didn’t want to buy any old used/third party refurbished iPhone with minimum 80% battery health, none genuine parts etc, or move to android. Apples certified pre owned iPhones are the best you can get IMO, and I got the best I could afford from the devices they had for sale.

It's a very nice device and feels like a tank. I'm still on iOS 18 and I'm in no hurry to update.

There's some things I liked about my old 14 Pro. I'd probably still use it today if the iPhone Air design didn’t completely win me over.

As an amateur photographer, when I didn’t have my DSLR with me, I was satisfied with the 14 Pro's photos, I’ve even taken a few that I've printed on large canvases with it. So far with the Air, I haven’t been able to take a single photo with that same quality. I also miss taking macro shots.

I’m still mixed about Apple Intelligence. I liked the idea of the 14 Pro not supporting it. But at the same time, I'm curious about all these new advances rumored to be coming with 26.4 and 27.

Overall, it was a good three years with the 14 Pro. I don't regret the upgrade to the Air, but it wasn't completely necessary for me. You can still easily get a couple more years out of it. My partner still has his 14 Pro and is in no hurry to upgrade.

Honestly, even the iPhone 13 series still works quite well.

As far as the US versions, I prefer the 13 to the 14 due to the physical SIM slot.

The Deep Purple 14 Pro does look gorgeous though and I have nothing to complain about performance-wise.

I initially thought that I would upgrade out of my iPhone XR to the iPhone 14 Pro, but for sake of Apple Intelligence, future proofing and the blue colour I decided to go one version above that. So I’m gonna speak on behalf of users I personally know that own the 14 pro.

I have two folks who still use it today. An ex Apple employee friend of mine and my aunt. (They have a space black and a deep purple, respectively).

They kept these iPhones for a while since they came out and still appreciated the cameras, premium stainless steel and everything. My friend uses a rugged case and my aunt’s deep purple 14 pro she uses the chalk pink Apple official silicone case. Both of their iPhones are still intact and they don’t use screen protectors in any way.

If Apple Intelligence and many of iOS 26 features weren’t a thing then the deep purple is a pretty choice.

I’m still rocking the Deep Purple PM. Battery says 100% capacity but battery life, for me, isn’t that great with iOS 26. Even with no apps. I don’t get it but it is what it is. If the iPhone 18 comes in Deep Purple (or similar), I’ll probably pick it again. But who knows?

"I have two folks who still use it today." My sense of time has somehow changed. It feels like my 14 Pro is still very new. Crazy. And something that might be old news to most people: I shot 4K videos for the first time. I was very surprised at how good they turned out.

One thing that has impressed me is the performance of the 14 Pro over 3 years later. It still absolutely flies with no issues.

Whilst it’s obviously falling behind the best now, these numbers are pretty solid.

I’m still very happy with my 14 Pro. I’ve had it since launch and see no reason to upgrade yet. Maybe next year if there is a really compelling reason. For now, it does everything I need. I had the battery replaced last April and it’s at 96% now.

My iPhone usage has changed over the years and I no longer need the latest phone. I’m hoping for at least five years with it!

It has aged bad to the point that it was the last iPhone with a lightning port, last iPhone with 500 cycle counts not to mention the amount of people reporting throughout the years of 14 Pro battery’s swelling after going past 80% capacity ( I have witnessed this to a friends 14 Pro after only just 78% capacity).

The A16 wasn’t full designed for its battery but it is better designed for the 15 since it has 1000 cycle counts

It’s still a fine phone though but the 14 Pro to the 15/15 Pro reminds me of the iPhone 5 and the 5c/5s lineups

My partner recently got a 14 pro as her work phone. I own a 15 pro. The first thing I noticed when picking it up is that it actually feels more premium than my 15 pro. However it’s less comfortable to hold due to the edges being slightly sharper.
There’s no way I would use a device with lightning, but other than that it seems to be fine.

Honestly I feel like it aged really beautifully. I personally don’t even care about lightning, and it is the first iPhone with the Dynamic Island, the first iPhone with the 48MP camera, etc.

Design and feature-wise it feels really new, battery life is good, everything is good.

Compare this to the iPhone X (or the Xs/Xʀ), the iPhone 11 arrived quickly, and the camera features dwarfed that of the first two notched iPhones.

If you were to ask me today an ideal iPhone journey I’d say

iPhone

iPhone 4

iPhone 5

iPhone 5s (Touch ID? GOAT)

iPhone 6s+

iPhone X

iPhone 11

iPhone 14 Pro

And you can even keep it because it still looks good. If you care too much about USB-C maybe that’s an issue, but meh.

I’m typing this with an iPhone 8 like @Andeddu. Lightning is fine.

I have an iPhone 16 Plus, but I’d use an iPhone 14 Pro without an issue.
