I assume that Apple's reported difficulties in developing their own wireless chip are the primary cause here. They're eager to get away from doing business with Qualcomm, but their own stuff wasn't quite ready in time.It remains unclear why Apple has not yet adopted WiFi 6E support
I would have agreed with you before the 12 came out, but now that MagSafe is available I’d be ok with losing lightning. Sturdiness trumps data transfer speed for a mobile phone; however because I use MagSafe for charging, the only thing I ever use the port for is data, so I’d appreciate the speed. Not letting go of my 8 yet but if I am forced to do so it will be a 14 or SE so I don't get USBC. No way USBC is as sturdy as lightning.
Fat chance. MR has zero journalistic integrity, they'll report anything Apple related.I unfollowed him a long time ago. He’s wrong more often than he’s right. MacRumors shouldn’t quote him in the future or they’ll lose their credibility like he did.
And yet, here you are reading a MacRumors article, and even commenting on it. 😆At the end a rumor is only a rumor. I stopped looking at rumors as there is no grounds.
does not laying perfectly flat really bother you that much? What would the benefit be to it laying perfectly flat? How does it not laying perfectly flat really affect you? Just curiousStill waiting on that USB-C
Getting rid of the camera bump would be my 2nd wish. I hate the iPhone can't lay flat on a table.
Oh my. I've never really watched any of his stuff. What a turd!
What makes it more cringe for Prosser though is at 3:30, where he mimics Apple’s marketing videos, and it ended up being straight up wrong.
Same thing with the squared off Apple Watch concept video at 8:03.
I’m willing to be the reason it didn’t make it in is because it’s a battery hog at the momentNo good reason this didn't make it to the 14.
Definitely, I too was looking forward to this and will likely skip this version because of it.Wasn't 8K video also rumored? It was a feature I was looking forward to.
It does, since the cameras stick out (unless you use a case) they're more likely to get scratched. It wobbles if you try to use the phone while on a flat surface. It's also just uglier than having a smooth back.does not laying perfectly flat really bother you that much? What would the benefit be to it laying perfectly flat? MacRumors should have a page dedicated to rumor sources and their accuracy. This chart could then be used to mark articles on how likely they are to be accurate.
I think MacRumors does. Didn't they do an interview with him recently in a YouTube video?Does anyone still listen to Prosser? His ego and lack of self awareness is astounding.
Interesting but some of those "sources" are just rumor sites, like MacRumors, and I don't think Mac rumors has ever made a prediction without a source, I could be wrong.![]()

Yeah my Samsung is laid out like that. With periscope lens design they were able to get the lenses back to being flat and relatively unobtrusive. And the chassis is still thin and light for a phone of its large dimensions. The phone isn't limited to its frame to be able to dissipate heat. Apple doesn't have to double the thickness of the device to eliminate the camera bump, they can put the lenses horizontally inside, periscope style. You don't have it all figured out like you think.
