You would see me lining up at the Apple store for hours if Apple would get rid of the awkward camera bump. But they don't so I keep my money.

It remains unclear why Apple has not yet adopted WiFi 6E support
I assume that Apple's reported difficulties in developing their own wireless chip are the primary cause here. They're eager to get away from doing business with Qualcomm, but their own stuff wasn't quite ready in time.

Not letting go of my 8 yet but if I am forced to do so it will be a 14 or SE so I don't get USBC. No way USBC is as sturdy as lightning.
I would have agreed with you before the 12 came out, but now that MagSafe is available I’d be ok with losing lightning. Sturdiness trumps data transfer speed for a mobile phone; however because I use MagSafe for charging, the only thing I ever use the port for is data, so I’d appreciate the speed.

What some of you fail to understand is that Prosser has never been “correct” with his rumors. He doesn’t have sources. He has essentially made up 100% of his “insider leaks,” and makes a living of throwing 50 things that “could be” at the wall, and hopes that at least 1 sticks.

It’s incredibly cringe, pathetic, and most of all: easy. Anyone can do it.

Check it out—here’s how you do it:

—My inside sources at Apple have told me that the iPhone 15 will have longer battery capacity, and a brighter screen, and USBC.

See?

At the end a rumor is only a rumor. I stopped looking at rumors as there is no grounds.
And yet, here you are reading a MacRumors article, and even commenting on it. 😆

Bottom line, no matter how much evidence is available, everything is a rumor until Apple makes it official on announcement day. Personally, I'll keep right on reading, because even when some of them turn out to be false, it's fun to speculate.

The Jon Posser prediction was from September 2021, a year ago. The Ming-Chi Kuo prediction about the cameras is even older, November 2020. Given their age, they could have been genuine possibilities that Apple was considering. I think predictions should be on a weighted by time and uniqueness. Accurate prediction close to launch shouldn't be given as much weight as ones that are made far in advance because as launch approaches, many more people gain access to the details, with the caveat unique rumors close to launch get extra credit. But inaccurate predictions made close to launch should be graded very harshly against the rumor site/blogger because that suggests they have little/no access.

The pill/hole rumors are interesting because the anonymous tipster that Macrumors reported on August 31, along with the Chinese social media posts, are the first ones that said the physical pill and hole cutouts would be masked with software into a single unified shape. Those guys should get a lot of credit, even though they were made close to launch, because they were the first. Many Mac sites dismissed them as not credible - 9to5Mac called them "questionable," "unlikely" and even had an entire post detailing why "history is certainly not on the side of Apple artificially hiding display cutouts" - you can read it here, it hasn't aged well in two weeks. Note to self, ignore 9to5Mac's take in the future.

does not laying perfectly flat really bother you that much? What would the benefit be to it laying perfectly flat? How does it not laying perfectly flat really affect you? Just curious
It does, since the cameras stick out (unless you use a case) they're more likely to get scratched. It wobbles if you try to use the phone while on a flat surface. It's also just uglier than having a smooth back.

The fact it's getting bigger every year is even more frustrating.

MacRumors should have a page dedicated to rumor sources and their accuracy. This chart could then be used to mark articles on how likely they are to be accurate.

Interesting but some of those "sources" are just rumor sites, like MacRumors, and I don't think Mac rumors has ever made a prediction without a source, I could be wrong.

The phone isn't limited to its frame to be able to dissipate heat. Apple doesn't have to double the thickness of the device to eliminate the camera bump, they can put the lenses horizontally inside, periscope style. You don't have it all figured out like you think.
Yeah my Samsung is laid out like that. With periscope lens design they were able to get the lenses back to being flat and relatively unobtrusive. And the chassis is still thin and light for a phone of its large dimensions.

iPhone 13 Pro is a glass sandwich that reaches nearly 50C. Glass doesn't dissipate heat well. Titanium is one of the worst metals for dissipating heat.

Periscope lens still means camera island because of the sensor size. Look at P30 Pro or Mate 50.
