I have the iPhone 14 (non-PRO version) and was thinking of taking it on a backup/main camera on two upcoming trips (one to Florida/Key West and one to Israel) in addition to my Sony RX100mk5 as I don't really want to take my other cameras along.

For those who have used the PRO version of the iPhones, it is worth the upgrade from the normal 14 to the PRO version? I have been considering it (will use my wife's iPhone 13 as the trade-in and give her my 14 to use) but don't know if it is worth the effort as far as Image Quality and the cameras themselves.

Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks.

It’s significantly better in terms of detail, but is it worth upgrading just for a trip? Probably not if you have a point and shoot.

Well it wouldn't be just for the trips, but I was inclined to do the upgrade now because of the two vacations. Thanks

The addition of the telephoto 3x lens makes a big difference for travel-based photography and the fact that the main camera is 48MP means that cropping is better too - you can crop photos and edit them in any number of apps to get great results that aren't really possible in a smaller camera sensor.
I'd go for a Pro, personally, if you're using the camera and features for more than just this one trip going forward.
