I agree. Unless one is heavily into photography, video recording or gaming, the regular 15 is the one to get. Pretty decent upgrades compared to the regular 14.I feel like the regular 15 quietly stole the show this year.
This is the model to get.
"It may not be worth upgrading from an iPhone 12, iPhone 13, or iPhone 14 model to the iPhone 15 unless you actively want several of the new features"
nor worth from iphone 12???
That certainly is a joke, as the 13 Pro doesn’t support the 2000 nits outdoor brightness as you claim. The '2,000 nits peak brightness (outdoor)' is a joke. I have the 13 Pro and the '2000 nits brightness' is only working for 5 seconds => then it gets overheated and dims to 1 nit. Same with my partner's iPhone 14 Pro max. Living in San Francisco, so you might think Apple tests devices outside of their offices.
Def the best YoY upgrade for the non pro phones perhaps ever. But I disagree with your assessment. Even for an “average” user, the promotion and AoD features are very difficult to give up. Using a 60 hz iphone after a promotion one feels like it’s almost broken.I agree. Unless one is heavily into photography, video recording or gaming, the regular 15 is the one to get. Are you meaning you think the 16 series will be a more significant update? A “modest” update means a small, insignificant one.My gut feeling is that the Iphone 16 pro max will be a more modest update than the 15 pro max. With the rumors suggesting a larger display, a brighter oled screen, wifi 7, and possibly a new ultra model with a design overhaul.
Definitely understand your point regarding ProMotion. Display analyst Ross Young has a stellar record with respect to predicting Apple's display roadmap. He's very confident ProMotion is coming to non-Pro iPhones in 2025.Def the best YoY upgrade for the non pro phones perhaps ever. But I disagree with your assessment.
