I feel like the regular 15 quietly stole the show this year.

This is the model to get.
I agree. Unless one is heavily into photography, video recording or gaming, the regular 15 is the one to get. Pretty decent upgrades compared to the regular 14.

Worst part is i wanted a 15 in white. But now considering picking up an 14.
Then again midseason they could bring out a white one.

So it’s either black 15 or white 14.

My gut feeling is that the Iphone 16 pro max will be a more modest update than the 15 pro max. With the rumors suggesting a larger display, a brighter oled screen, wifi 7, and possibly a new ultra model with a design overhaul.

The '2,000 nits peak brightness (outdoor)' is a joke. I have the 13 Pro and the '2000 nits brightness' is only working for 5 seconds => then it gets overheated and dims to 1 nit. Same with my partner's iPhone 14 Pro max. Living in San Francisco, so you might think Apple tests devices outside of their offices.
That certainly is a joke, as the 13 Pro doesn’t support the 2000 nits outdoor brightness as you claim.

Your screen is dimming from its normal max of 1000 nits to about 75% of max brightness because it’s overheating, which could be caused by a number of things such as being exposed to direct, intense sunlight for an extended period, fast charging, and other factors.

Def the best YoY upgrade for the non pro phones perhaps ever. But I disagree with your assessment. Even for an “average” user, the promotion and AoD features are very difficult to give up. Using a 60 hz iphone after a promotion one feels like it’s almost broken.

Are you meaning you think the 16 series will be a more significant update? A “modest” update means a small, insignificant one.

Definitely understand your point regarding ProMotion. Display analyst Ross Young has a stellar record with respect to predicting Apple's display roadmap. He's very confident ProMotion is coming to non-Pro iPhones in 2025.

Wondering how many people came to iPhone knowing they always had the ability to look at the silence rocker and know if the phone was on silent without touching it are now going to miss it if upgrading. Or how many people remember when Apple used SCSI driver interfaces and other premium components in its desktops because of them being technically better (at the time) when others used off the shelf IDE or sound cards. If you fall into either of these two groups, you might not care/agree with the push to force Apple to use USB-C because competitors use it.

That would be very exciting if it happens! I’m sure I will always get the pro model because I always want to have all the latest features, but that will be great news for a lot of users.

Apparently no Product Red in the 15 . I'm thinking it's being dropped for a pastel world.
