According to what I was read in the schematics and what I heard the new case was made with a technology called Fine Woven Twill, it is a type of textile weaving characterized by a diagonal stripe. It seems that the material used is not waterproof so it could be damaged on contact. The official name seems to be confirmed FineWoven. The retail price for the public should be over 800 yuan, probably something like $109 in the US or even more since it is an innovative material developed by Apple.

Wow that is crazy expensive...

US $110 for a phone case? That’ll probably translate to at least €129 in Europe.

Apple’s pricing is starting to lose all touch with reality.

US$109 is way overpriced and this is coming from someone who buys 2x leather cases every year lol

Might just settle on a good replica leather case from AliExpress this year.

So.. Are they leather, or are they not? If this is indeed "vegan leather", aka plastic attempting to imitate leather, a starting price of $109 sounds crazy. I'm not against the idea of faux leather. But it lacks the premium feel and smell of leather and is typically far cheaper to produce. Paying $109 for something imitating leather doesn't sit right with me.

I haven't used the Apple Leather Cases for some generations now. I have opted for Bullstrap Leather Cases as they have a much more authentic feel and smell than the official ones from Apple. But I'm always seeking out how every new version of the official ones looks, feels and smells to see if Apple has improved on anything. But it sounds like this will be a step backwards in almost every direction.

At $109, might it be that it's still genuine leather with improved production techniques to make them feel more premium and for the colour to last? Going with bright leather from Apple has always been a bad idea as the leather starts to lose its colour quite quickly and water stains look terrible as it diffuses the colour in a really bad way.

This looks like a jeans pocket for your phone, that you can put IN your jeans pocket. In-jean-ious. 👖
I’d have to see in in person but based on the photo it seems a bit bulky and prone to dirt.

Absolutely no chance I'll be getting one of these. Silicone again for the second year running

more Twitter BS rumors! I really am getting tired of these do we really need to spread more of this Crap!
There is no official price no official nothing, someone here is playing influencer with the BS information on Twitter.
People with nothing better to do than post more BS here, get people upset.

Nah. They aren’t getting my money for cases anymore. The current leather cases are absolute trash especially when considering the cost. Perhaps once there is demonstrated durability and longevity I’ll bite.
I don't understand what people do with their cases to wreck them in such a short space of time.

My leather case that I got with my iPhone 13 Pro looks as good as new nearly 2 years to the day since I bought it. Other people seem to completely destroy theirs within a few months.

I suppose people need to take take of things properly! Putting your leather case and sharp objects like keys together will never end well.

I’ve had only Apple silicone cases the last few years and each one has only lasted 6 months before the outer cases starts to peel away and eventually the inner case begins to crack. I always begrudgingly replace it, but I’d sooner pay more for a more durable case. If that’s Finewoven, they’ve got a customer here…!

This is exactly the problem. And I’m not the type of person that wants to take the care/subconscious stress to carefully protect the thing that protects my phone. It’s like you need a case for a case for a case, or to be mindful of how you’re handling it at all times. I do sometimes appreciate nicer things like a leather case, but I won’t buy it again. I want to be able to throw my phone in my pocket with my keys. I just didn’t expect this light abuse would break a premium case down so quickly. Not to mention the “patina” just makes it look downright dirty. Guess I need to accept a silicon case or similar. I do love having the mag wallet, however. I think it’s wonderfully implemented. The wallet never just falls off like I thought it would. In and out of tight pockets all day and it’s solid.

it’s been like this which happened two months after I got the case. And my sister who has an iPhone pro max 13 after six months her case cracked along the camera bump. Bought a new one two months later that case same location broke. I love the silicone cases but sometimes it just does not seem like the last very long. So I agree with you
