I had a feeling it was Instagram.
Mine would only heat up while I'm on it.
It helps by turning off location and allow tracking off.

It's just from Instagram, you have to wait for an update of the application and it also happens on iPhone 14 models (and maybe the others, I suppose, but he didn't specify). You have to do what he says in his pinned comment :
The Instagram app nearly killed my old phone at one point. It would use more battery than the charger could provide (even when I'd quit the app and bg refresh was turned off). Deleting and reinstalling the app would fix things till the next update then I'd notice battery issues again.

I would not trust any social media posting instructions or reviews until I verify them with my own experience. All are relative and subjective on social platforms. However, everyone had their own personal preference.

I deleted the App from my iPhone and use "Friendly+" instead. It is honestly just a mobile wrapper but the advantage is that it also blocks most Insta Ads. Tried to use Instagram as a Web App from Safari but it logs me out every time I open the "web app" for some reason so "Friendly+" it is
