iPhone 15 Pro Max IPhone 15 Pro max Heating up.

Hi,

Just got my iPhone 15pro Max 256Gb and the phone is heating up like anything especially when I am on a call. I use my phone without the case so you can imagine.

Never had any issues with any other previous model.

I would do a hard reboot. press volume up, then volume down, then hold down power button until apple logo appears.
 
I've been on the phone for two hours with my 15 Pro via iPods and it's very hot to the touch and won't charge via MagSafe. its not losing battery, but won't out charge its usage. iCloud Photos backup also paused saying the phone needs to cool down.

did a hard reboot and now its cooling down and sitting on the charger again and is charging, no longer on the phone either. just bought it today and had it set up since about 2:30 PM

Hard reset and other things were done yesterday mine gets hot when I am on calls.

Another hard reset today things are a little better.

This is really strange!

all phone calls? I'm on wifi calling via FirstNet.
 
..and here I was thinking my new 15PM was significantly cooler than my 14PM. 😂

Absolutely no heat issues when I transferred phones, while gaming, etc.

At most it may feel a bit lukewarm while charging but barely.
 
5 minutes on a WhatsApp call and the temperature at 41 to 43 degrees.

I have been using iPhones since 2009 this can be a hardware issue.

Lemme reply on his behalf, since I also have been using iPhone since 3G:

At no point in my iPhone-ownership history, had I needed to point an IR gun at the back glass to check if I was feeling it wrong. My 15 Pro Max absolutely does. In fact it is hotter than my Thunderbolt 10G NIC and NVMe SSD enclosures which is quite a feat.

Leaving this with direct skin contact will surely cause burns.

We have 5 iPhone Pro Max devices, and 3 of them have this battery issue. Hopefully, a new iOS update is coming soon!
 
Same here. Phone gets „warm and sometimes hot“ when doing a call.
While browsing and doing a call it gets 90% hot. Draining battery too much.

What the heck is that ??

Did you restore from Backup? Maybe reset the phone?

After setup my 15P didn't get hot anymore
 
Maybe its a bug with the 5G modem software. As many of you having heating issue with phone calls or being outside without WiFi.
 
Fortunately, I haven't experienced noticeable heat to be concerned about. I can't speak on gaming though, cause i don't really play the huge demanding games on iPhone.
 
My phone has been fine today under normal usage. Browsing the web, instagram and facebook intermittently and texts. I’ll make a phone call tonight and if it heats up again I’ll know it’s because of that.
 
My iPhone is getting hot while taking 5-10 photos in a row .
When I want to delete them one after the other and the photo is moving to trash I sometimes get a pink flicker … really crazy
 
Mine got pretty hot when playing Amazon music in the car…not to mention battery took a hit. Really hoping it’ll improve

That’s about 105F. I wouldn’t call that burning hot, but I wonder what background stuff is going on?
