YouTube channel PBKreviews today shared a teardown of the iPhone 15 Pro, providing a look inside the device. Overall, the iPhone 15 Pro has a similar internal design as the iPhone 14 Pro, but with a redesigned mid-frame chassis that allows for the back glass panel to be easily removed from the device during repairs.

The teardown confirms that the iPhone 15 Pro is equipped with a 3,274 mAh battery, as revealed in a regulatory database last week. While the iPhone 15 Pro has a slightly larger battery than the 3,200 mAh battery in the iPhone 14 Pro, Apple says both devices have the same battery life, with up to 23 hours of offline video playback.

Since this is an iPhone 15 Pro teardown, there is no look at Apple's new tetraprism lens system, which enables 5x optical zoom on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The video provides a brief look at the iPhone 15 Pro's logic board with Apple's new A17 Pro chip, but few other details can be garnered. Repair website iFixit will likely share a more in-depth teardown of the device by next week.

There doesn't seem to be much space for more battery .

As much as I wanna hate on 'em for putting such small a batt, I fail to see where they coulda put it
Yeah that’s a good point. And as always you can’t increase the size that much over previous generation. Especially if they made it lighter which was mainly due to titanium. It’s just the more functions more better than the cameras etc. the more battery is going to use. So the battery life is not gonna be that great it seems like

1. No A17 Pro branding like was with Series 13/14. I see cost reduction - there is no metal cover over the cameras, the Taptic Engine is smaller. Also it seems they have moved one of the sensors which was under the display on 14 Pro/Max into the main assembly of the front camera.

2. It seems they are concerned about shielding, which probably came from the increased thickness of the phone (more air gap inside). If you look, you will notice the contacts on the bottom speaker, camera and Taptic Engine.

3. It's US motherboard. Global market PCB it's said to be bit different.

Batt life seems quite meh indeed . ..

Doesn’t seem to have a SIM card tray place holder. Does that mean the models with or without now have different internal designs? Bigger battery on the ones without?

The SIM tray would stack on top of the flash package based on leaked photos from Majin Bu. Slightly different board. Both models have the same size battery per safety regulatory datasheet on Apple’s website.

It seems like they added some thermal dissipation extension on the board cover. My guess is the A17 Pro runs really hot as well...

It was on 14 Pro aswell. 0:56

From what I saw, the PCB for US and rest of the world (with SIM) are different. The NAND is on other spot. At the moment the NAND in the US model is where the SIM slot should be.

What if...

iPhone 16 "B"

Any and all substitutable space is spent shrinking every other component and enlarging the battery!

100 hours of battery per charge! (Just good luck running any games.)

I’m curious about how the Natural Titanium finish on the frame looks after a deep scratch vs the other colors. My guess: it will fare the best.
