Apple sends them out.
But, to the ppl who are going to do a TEAR DOWN? I’ve seen some of the historically developer and now influencer contracts, and tear down and connecting to systems to query all internals is a no no. PRIOR to general release.

Also, clearly this group that did the tear down is trying to front run ppl like iFixit who have historically always gotten the first units (by getting them in AUSTRALIA) on release day, and fast tracked the tear down. That is historically in compliance with what the embargo agreements put in place.

Now, it seems that either apple has eliminated some of the restrictions (which I doubt) or someone SOMEWHERE did something that is going to get them in hot water soon enough should apple choose to pursue it.

At the end when he finished putting it back together, he said power it back on and you're done. No new adhesive to seal the screen and back panel on? I assume that was just for the video, but still a missed step.

What is the name of the company that does indepth die analysis for the chips usually?

The battery is bigger …but life is the same despite going to a smaller die size. Is something broken about the A17 that apple is avoiding? There are additional heat covers for the processor. Is the A17 a bust?

The heatcover is 1:1 with 14 Pro. I already posted a link to video showing that. The battery is just few mAh more.

I’ve said this in other threads, but I think the apple reported battery life - essentially the same as 14/pro is a hedge, or under promise over deliver.

For the watches, battery life is essentially the same and yet early testers indicate that battery life seems to be better by ~10% or more in some cases for the AWU2

Let the conspiracy theories begin! I'm not sure that is a team you want to be on in 2023 though.

Why do you believe the review testing for Watch but not iPhone?

Hopefully the iPhone 16 pro’s have a titanium back, and not glass again.

Maybe someone can make a aftermarket titanium back plate until then.

Also, where are the cooling fans?

Does this mean we don’t get a new battery of you “accidentally” break the rear glass like you did with the previous Pro phones?

That's a smaller battery than I was expecting. An earlier rumor had the battery at over 4000 mAh. Ah well.
Me too mate, me too. Rumor was pointing to sth like 37xx I believe. Perhaps next year ? Tbf apple didn't give a **** about battery for years (till 11 series)

Then they lent heavily on it , taking the crown even..and also heavy as **** (not correlated though, it's more about the exterior materials) ... , iphone pros became the heaviest bricks of the industry

Now it looks like they're going to the "light" route.

All of this to say that I'm doubting they'll increase the battery size next year. Perhaps will they. God knows. I ain't sure whether I should or not wait for the iphone 16 pro (or 16 if they add 120hz to it )

I would have much appreciated it if Apple has said, “this is the longest lasting iPhone we have ever made”.

Last 6 minutes longer than the same phone last year.

There are at least a dozen screws in there. Surely we can get rid of those screws and make more room! (Do I need the /s?)

You see... supply shortage my butt... when the actual specs gradually gets reveal, those who hypes over "it's gonna sell like hotcakes"... will be all cold cakes....

This is why I think Apple knew about this in advance and may make the iPhone 16/16 Pro models so the battery pack can be easily user-swapped. Mind you, this may result in a physically thicker phone.
Is the requirement "replaceable" or "swappable?"

To me " replaceable" means I can open up the phone using common inexpensive tools, remove the battery and install a new one. The old one is discarded/recycled. The 15 may be a step towards that, with the reportedly easily removable back glass.

"Swappable" means I can carry a spare around and I can pop off the first one with no tools and pop on the second one. They are designed to be easily swapped back and forth.
