I know most around here are all about the pro phones. My 15 pm is in repair for a few days Ana I’m using a regular 15 and must say it’s a great little device. Fast, light, bright. Pocketable, easy to type on, - just way better than I thought. Anyone else when these thoughts

great, hows the camera ? miss any prores/log on it ?

I’m using the 15 for three months now. Solid phone and I like it over the 13 Pro Max. I do miss having a dedicated telephoto camera with 3x zoom but I work around that by shooting in 48MP and then crop from there.

I’ve bought a 15 Pro and I’m thinking I should change to that but I think I’m sticking with the 15. The back glass is softer to touch over the back of the 15 Pro.

The non-pro 15s are the best iPhones today for people who actually want to hold and carry their phones comfortably in pants. They're also more comfortable to hold.

Weight matters. Thickness matters. The features of the "pro" models don't matter to most people.

Too bad that so many automatically go to the pro models.

I have the 15p from the 14. Is it better? Maybe the camera is better in low light. But I wouldn’t go as far as naming it Pro. Maybe more like Little Better, Gooder, Snobbyer or iPhone Bigger🌸😊

I have both the 15 Pro Max and the 15 Plus here next to me. I much prefer holding and carrying the 15 Plus. I notice very little to no advantage to Pro Motion. The third camera on the Pro is, well, better than nothing, but 5x is too close too often. I rarely use it. What else is there? Faster? Nyet (no). Not that I can tell. Smoother scrolling? Not that I can tell, at least not with text. USB-C 3.0? Couldn't care less. Action button? Totally useless for me. Do I need or want to shoot video in log format? Nope. I do notice the heavier weight and thicker form factor of the Pro. Both are cons in my book.

Also it looks like regular iPhone has better battery. Probably because of old chipset which is better optimized than new a17

really however the perfect balance is likely the 14 pro, good price, good specs, little small, but manageable..

I have the regular 15 and am very happy with it. I’ve never had a device with pro-motion so I guess I don’t know what I’m missing in that respect. The 15 takes nice photos that are good enough for my needs (99% of my camera roll consists of pics of my dogs), and it’s not heavy to hold when I’m doom scrolling.

The regular models have always been better battery life than the smaller flagship/Pro models. It’s been the case since the XR days. I’m not too sure the 12 lasts longer than 12 Pro but I’m very sure the XR, 11, 13, 14 and 15 last longer than their Pro counterparts. I don’t think it’s optimisation issue. Perhaps it’s the RAM or added features that cause the battery to drain faster. And I think the 15 Pro has a smaller battery size than the 15 so that could be a reason too.

Yeah I mean in comparison to the 15, if you can get the 14 Pro at a lower price than a 15 then it’s good. Since the 14 Pro can use the 48MP sensor to shoot HEIF Max. If you’re a photographer or likes taking photos then the 14 Pro edges the 15 in that aspect.

You are right but this year it looks like the worst year for pro models ever. That’s why I think it is caused by a17. Powerful but not optimized and battery draining chipset.

I think another thing that doesn’t get mentioned much is how ugly the pro phones are compared to the standard. That awful bulging 3 camera setup, and also the pro always has much worse colours. 13/14/15 look so much nicer than their pro counterparts

Colors are a matter of taste. Not everyone wants to choose between colors like regular models have. I am thinking about switching from 15 Pro to regular and my one and only choice can be black. But you are right about cameras setup

I’m in the opposite situation from yours lol. I have a 15 in Black and I just bought the 15 Pro to see if I want to make the switch. I like the idea of having a dedicated telephoto lens but the battery life will take a hit. I’ll see if I can live with that.

It does not matter as it is what ever makes you feel good then just use that. For me I prefer the 15 Pro but then I plan on keeping it for 3-4 years

It does, but the colors of the regular 15s are not much better--unless you like pastels (washed out colors).

Unfortunately black is the best you can do on the standard 15s this year (and black is depressing/boring).

This is just the worst year ever for iPhone colors, unfortunately. The phones themselves are a decent improvement over last year's. So just get a case and hold your nose when you hold the phones.

On the pro models, I think white looks best. The gray (natural) is super boring.
