My 13P got stolen a few says ago. I've been very happy with the phone, and nothing has really caught my eye on the latest iPhones (other than USBC, how sad) So I need to get a new one, but the 16P is painfully expensive up here. In the old days I wouldn't mind, as I was excited about every iPhone that came out. What will I miss buying a (refurb) 15P other than the camera button?
The best deal I've found is a 15PM, but not sure I can bother with a Max again

16 pro is slightly bigger with smaller bezels so bigger screen. Battery is better as MarkX says. If you are going to keep the phone for a few years why not pay a little extra and get the 16 pro for the battery and screen alone (unless the 15 pro refurb is significantly cheaper)? Either way, you win. Both are great phones.

You both got good points. Tempting now to go for 16P as it's hard to find a good enough deal on a 15P. Otherwise they are too close in price

Just as I wrote that, I found a 15P 256GB around USD450 cheaper🙈 Might spring for that

What I will say is that the 5x lens does redefine how you take photos, to the point that you won't use anything else. Its not worth $450 more but it is a notable improvement.

Congrats on the purchase! I didn’t see any significant difference between the 15P and 16P, so I stuck with my 15P and still content with it. You get a bigger battery with the 16P, but I still get decent life out of my 15P on a daily basis.

Thanks. Biggest difference from my 13 so far is that the 15 feels nicer in the hand 😅

I used to upgrade every year. I didn’t this year because the 15 pro max is only missing the camera button that’s I don’t care about and my battery life has been more than fine for me. Do with that information what you will.

If you tend to keep your phone for a long time, then just get the newer phone. It will have a longer life by at least a year, and the cost difference amortized over time will be negligible.

There aren’t many differences from a 15P to 16P, but the user was using a 13P, so he’s going to see some.

I used to do that in the past, but it was obvious it wasn’t really a wise choice. To see some improvements you have to skip at least one generation (better 2).

Funnily enough I only started that after the iPhone X, but that’s when I started working at Apple retail. I don’t anymore so I don’t get discounts and the changes year over year are less.

for most people certainly not. i upgrade every year as i'm tech mad but nobody with a 15 pro or pro max is missing out certainly when those devices also get apple intelligence.

well, for starters the 16 pro is way larger screen size.. you can see much more!

Not really way larger, only marginally. The 16 pro over the 15 pro gets you a little more screen height and that’s about it. Not something to even factor in if you’re choosing between the 2 imo.

In the review from business insider you can see the difference, 16 Pro on the left, 15 Pro on the right

The 0.2 inches sound marginally, but they ARE really visible! Look at some images side by side (like the one above) or try looking at a 13/14/15 Pro side by side a 16 Pro in real life. It DOES make a difference!

Just like back in the day they changed from 6.5“ 11 Pro Max to 6.7“ 12 Pro Max. Sounds little but feels much!

I have in my house a 14 and a 16 pro so I'm well aware of their sizes! Like I said, it's a negligible difference in day to day use.

Brother my iPhone 7 still works fine (software-wise. The speaker that broke from falling does not lol). You'll be golden for years no matter which one you get.
