Anyone else less than enthused about the battery life? My battery is dropping like crazy.I’ve dropped 8% in 2 hours. I’m guessing it’s indexing, however screen time is showing my screen as being active for 4h27m when I haven’t even been awake for 3h27m and I turned always on off. No one could have used my phone. If it continues to do this, and it’s not indexing. I just might have to swap it out or go back to my 13pm.

I would give it at least a couple more days.

I’m going to do that anyway to rule out indexing. What’s throwing me off, is screen timing being so inaccurate. I’ve dropped 3% since creating this thread.

Nothing has been running in the background either? If it's the last 24 hours could I be from your use last night?

Nope. I closed everything. Unless the system is doing something, it wasn’t the apps. And it’s been on the charger the whole night. I took it off at 100%. I’m now at 89%. I used it a lot longer than 4 hours yesterday.

Wow and my 15PM dropped zero percent in 10 hours. Overnight in sleep mode. My 14PM would usually drop 10%. This 15PM not even one percent. Very impressive.

Charged it back up to 90% now. We shall see what it’s like.

I experienced and expected that on every new phone. The new phone battery is adjusting. Just wait for few days for the battery to adapt.

I get the indexing time. It’s the screen time that’s throwing me off.

There’s always the same comments every year when upgrading to a new phone and/or iOS version. You can’t make any useful inferences in the first week or so. Just chill and wait.

So screen time is always that inaccurate? I know about indexing and it doing stuff in the background. The reason I made this thread is screen time is very inaccurate. In the time it took to write these 5 sentences. It’s dropped 2%.

Again 8% in 2h, with screen off ?? This is nuts indeed

My first full day and I tried to spend as much time as possible on my phone to test it out. Off the charger at 4:15 and was down to about 5% by 7 pmish

Not unhappy with these numbers but will see how it settles in with my regular daily use which is not normally this intensive

If you have 15PM and have really bad battery life, turn off Background app refresh for Instagram App and QUIT INSTAGRAM APP after using it.
It's funny that 1hour and 16 mins of playing youtube on the screen with speaker on consumes less battery than 25mins of Instagram usage and 15mins of background running... Such BS from Instagram.

On my 15P 13 min instagram + 7 min background consumes more battery than 55 min Tapatalk .

According to battery stats 16%. 1h music streaming is 11% lol

If work doesn't require it, I will gladly remove all FB and IG app ...

This could be my issue. I’ll find out tomorrow for sure. I turned off background app refresh for Instagram and other things that really don’t need it. I’m at 66% I’ve been using my phone on battery since 8:15.

I was wrong. I dropped 6% between that post and this post.

I restore my 15PM to factory setting and here is my test with all other apps closed and all other apps background refresh turned off, all third party apps uninstalled:
  • With IG open, Just opening the app and look at my profile for 1 hour, without scrolling or any interaction, battery drain is 20% per hour.
  • With IG on the background app refresh enabled: 10% per hour.
  • Without IG (app uninstalled): 3% drain per hour at idle
