I thought it was just me! Everyone is fawning over these slimmer bezels... But holding the phone next to my 15PM they looked almost identical.Just a gimmick the camera slider. Went to the Apple Store and the bezels aren’t that crazy noticebly smaller either. Decent upgrade from an iPhone 14 Pro. Even better for an iPhone 13 Pro and below.
Nobody cares about Touch ID except for the minority who groan about it years later.Should've also doubled as Touch ID, hence many more sales.
Missed op.
If this is true that it only works if iphone is unlocked this is actually big news. Is this a sign that apple are losing it? Is this the beginning of the end? Absolutely ridiculous that the quick access camera button isnt quick access. Never would have happened under S. jobs
I hate this button so much. It does nothing useful and unique, it makes the process of taking photos slower and it’s too big and in a such a bad position on the phone, that I constantly ruin my photos because I change focus or something else with it and then have to start over because I touched the button by accident. It’s very hard to avoid it while you holding the phone and trying to capture something. This absolutely redundant button is probably one of the worst things that Apple came up with.
No, that is not true. It gives access to the camera when locked just as if you swiped left or hit the icon on your lock screen. I can grab my phone and have my camera open and ready to use before I even have the phone in front of my face, by clicking the Camera Control button as I'm bringing it up. It's quicker access than either of the other quick access methods. I also have it set so that I have to double-click to activate it, which helps avoid accidentally activating it when handling the phone. So I guess S. Jobs can continue to rest peacefully. If this is true that it only works if iphone is unlocked this is actually big news. Is this a sign that apple are losing it? Is this the beginning of the end? Thanks for this! Okay, so, the author is wrong then. Very strange journalism. One would assume we can read about facts when the post a review, and take things lightly when they are just rumours. No, that is not true. I can still return it. But I will keep it because I had 14 Pro Max and I don’t ever want a phone that big. I’ll try to give this bas button a chance but in the long run I think I’ll disable it.Thanks for posting. Sorry to read this. It is however what I think the majority of people feel about this new button. Perhaps there will be a poll on this site to get some numbers in.
Can you return the phone, or is it too late?

I think you’re right that most people really don’t like it. The only people who think it’s the next big thing are some influencers that don’t want to get Apple mad beacuse they just want those event invites. Truly sad time we’re living in.
My main issue with the size of the Max is how heavy it is and how enormous it is in my pocket. It slipped out of my pocket a few times when I was driving, etc. And the bigger real estate is not much of a difference at all. I only like the battery life, but the 16 Pro seems like a big improvement from prior regular Pros. I don’t think I feel any difference in comparison with my Max. But I tried 15 Pro a few months ago and I have to say that it was noticeably lighter than the 16 Pro. It almost feels like my Max in terms of weight. That's understandable. The Max is really un unhandy size. Likely bought by people who have only a single device. I know some, but never understand how they get away with 2FA.
Yeah these influences are really annoying bunch of wannabees. And by returning those goods they jack up the price for people who buy it because they want or need it. Not for reviews -which are usually positive no matter what- and then make a buck off of it.
Sad times indeed.

So If can summarize what I like about the newest iPhone.. it’s just the battery life and slimmer bezels. I almost forgot.. The camera is a big disappointment I have to say. I see no difference AT ALL and the image seems even blurrier. Very weird. I hope it’s something in software. If it’s not something fixable I think I’ll return the phone. I can post some comparison pictures if you and people here want it.
Sorry for a late reply.. here are some photos of my car taken directly from 14 Pro Max and 16 Pro in ProMax 48 MPx unedited (just edited license plate). I think these photos are great examples because they’re in not so good light and they’re not arranged at all in any way. I just tried to took them form the same angle. You can literally see no difference. I have to say that the pics from the older phone are even better.Nice to have a discussion on this topic: thanks.
I also tried a max once (the 13), but returned it after a few days. Fortunately the smaller pro was still available at this 'launch week'. At 240 grams, it was indeed heavy. And the larger screen didn't 'do it' for me.
I saw the 16 in a store for a minute. Not for me; the CC button, the smaller bezels which I don't notice (I look at the content on the screen, not at the screen). So, keeping my 14 Pro, and we'll see what they come up with. But if the CC button is here for another 3 years my 14 may have become slow and 'long in the tooth'. Oh well, these upgrades are rather pointless for what I use it for:
calls
banking
camera/photos
weather
a few apps, not many
If you do have the time for a photo upload that'd be great. Just two comparisons would do it for me. TIA, and if not, still cool.

That's simply terrible. Glad I skipped the 16. I've read several negative posts on the new button. Guess it's a good thing one can turn it off. After using it for almost 3 weeks, the camera control button is in the most stupidest place. Like they couldn’t decide should we make it ergonomic for portrait or landscape so it’s put it in a place where both need to do gymnastics just to get to the button. The “button” has now in my books is just a camera shortcut. Went back to using onscreen controls again. It’s even worse on the max. Like pick a side Apple, move it further up or down on the 17 and it might actually be useful. Also the control is useless for night mode cause it causes the phone to move when take pictures which u don’t want when taking longer exposure photos lol. Like I shouldn’t need to think how to take a photo and trying to decided to use the button or on screen controls.
Nokia 5110 ( what people today would call a brick phone - it's over 3centimtre thick) only weighs 170 gram. Phones today are too heavy. Make them lighterDang, looking at the chart above I never realized how much of a hulk/brute my 13 Pro Max is/was. 😄
