Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo today outlined his expectations for the iPhone 16 lineup's color options, revealing that two new colors should replace two of the existing shades.

Kuo outlined his expectations in a post on X (formerly Twitter) earlier today. He believes that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be available in black, white or silver, gray or "Natural Titanium," and rose. This effectively means that the iPhone 15 Pro's Blue Titanium option will be discontinued and replaced with a new rose color. This mirrors an earlier rumor originating in China, which claimed that the existing Blue Titanium color will be dropped from the ‌iPhone 16 Pro‌ lineup in favor of a new "rose" titanium color.

On the other hand, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will apparently be offered in black, green, pink, blue, and white. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are available in black, green, pink, blue, and yellow. This means that white will replace yellow, with the colors remaining the same.

Kuo noted that Apple may rename some of the existing colors, such as when it changed the iPhone 12's "White" to the iPhone 13's "Starlight." Likewise, where color names are not changed, the actual tone and appearance may still look different. The iPhone 16 lineup is expected to be announced in the fall.

Here's hoping they bring back the black titanium watch. Surprised we haven't seen any watch rumors outside of some vague talk about band/lug changes.

If my battery can hold out another year, I will pass on this years pro lineup. As it’s a very lacklustre update in terms of colours, features and design.

Hopefully Apple will stop fooling themselves & bring a design overhaul and better functionality to next years lineup otherwise sales will keep flopping.

Hot take: Cases on phones is a complete rip off. It adds weight, thickness, makes it harder to handle with one hand, and makes the phone look like crap. I've been using my iPhone 15 Pro without a case since I got it 6 months ago and it looks as new like the day I got it. It gets a lot of compliments. Don't get a case. You simply do not need one.

And, of course, the counterpoint:

In Tim Cook's clueless mind, "innovation" means using practically the same iPhone 11 design for six years in a row, with the most noticable design change being color.

I owe Apple my career, and my secure retirement. Steve Jobs has been a hero to me since he returned to the fold. The wife and I own at least two of everything Apple makes, with the exception of the Mac Pro, and the AirPods Max (we do have the pros, though).

But those colors, all of them, BORCH! Hope they keep the red one. My wife wanted Rose Gold to match her watch, instead pink??? Barbie fans rejoice, everyone else, not so much.
