Maybe they could integrate it with the rear camera. Turn it over, log in, turn it back. Sounds silly but it's the only way to not have a hole in the front. I'm still dubious about how well under-display cameras would work.

So essentially, the iPhone 16 may have FaceID related changes, but who knows what they are. Kind of a weak post.

If it comes from the Telegraph they’re probably trying to gaslight the populace into thinking that FaceID will only now work if your face has a certain level of ruddiness to it, almost resembling a pork-based steak…

I was going to say something slightly more diplomatic like 'consider the original source'.

I wonder if there's any durability improvements. There's oceans of "no FaceID" iPhones on eBay and I've seen a few go to a bit of moisture that any pre-FaceID but water resistant iPhone would have gotten through just fine.

I would be really surprised if the iPhone 16 would have some design changes at all. Knowing Apple… 2030 at best with a price increase of course.

If would be great if they could remove the cut out from the display. But I would love it if they retained the spirit of the dynamic island. In other words, if changes could be made to the software to allow greater functionality at any given time with a persistent button, animation, icon, etc.

Sorry to burst the bubble but don’t expect under Face ID until the iPhone 18.

iPhone 18 is the earliest that Face ID will be under the screen

A publication that draws info from Apple's supply chain is moving the goalposts again and is now saying that Face ID under the screen isn't coming until "after 2026."
