If these bigger screens are coming to the Pro models next year then I'm a bit surprised that Apple shrunk the bezels and reduced the dimensions ever so slightly on the 15 Pro models when presumably next year they will have to increase the physical case size again, even if only very slightly, because of the larger screens.

An alternative would have been to keep the Pro series case dimensions identical - they could have still done the titanium and the slightly rounded edges this year and delivered some weight reductions - but saved the narrower bezels until next year so that they could boast about putting in bigger screens with virtually no increase in overall phone size.

I'm surprised Apple didn't take that alternative path.

I don't expect the mini to come back but I'd at least like a reasonably sized phone. I need both hands just to use my 14 pro as it is. 5.8 was amazing, why can't they bring that back? Why not make the standard iPhone 5.8, the pro 6.3, and the pro max 6.9? I'd be happy with that. Large phone lovers have no shortage of choices, but if I want a phone I can use with one hand my choices are either SE, 13 mini, or obscure android phones that I would never buy anyway.

I am, as well. Ross Young and Ming Chi Kuo are to be trusted but I don't really understand why they wouldn't increase the screen size and dimensions at the same time as increasing the bezels. Said another way, it doesn't feel very Apple-like to change the screen resolutions after a big change year for iPhone 15.

Seems 7” is the wall for screen sizes; Android hasn’t gone 7”+ en masse and Apple won’t either.

I agree that 5.8” screen with superior screen to body ration and bezels that to my eye (now using the 15 Pro) are STILL slimmer on the 13 Mini than the 15 Pro or any other iPhone.

That said the screen to body ration IS finally better for the Pro than the 13 mini :

15 Pro. 13 Mini

(~88.2% screen-to-body ratio)(~85.1% screen-to-body ratio)

That said I had to upgrade. My 7mth old Starlight iPhone 13 mini was stolen(!) and I ad to resort to purchasing 12 mini and after 4 mths handed it down to my son whom had his iPhone X die on him.

Last month I switched over to the Samsung Galaxy S23 which to my surprise was VERY small for a 6.1” screen, delightful in the hand with rounded edges (some would say like the iPhone 11) but fully flat back and front glass which super minimal camera protrusions.

Going from that to the 15 Pro was just as easy for my VERY small man hands lol since I prefer the flat sides with a slight smoothed-camphor edge.

The camera bump is annoying but in bed it rests on fore finger to keep from falling.

You can hang on to the 13 mini as long as possible yet make no mistake Apple may not go back - as they’ve shown to ignore the us we base already.

- Apple Music: new artist song or album notification ended up full screen on my 12 mini with no “X” butto no in site to escape, forcing me to leave ok at rate plans before I could just escape.

- websites are doing the same, pushing pop up ads that are full screen (most from Google itself within Safari)annoyingly forcing me to close the tab and relaunch the site from history.

I do like the numbers on the screen to body ratio:

The extreme warmth of the 15 Pro while gaming under 30 mins is significant to affect comfort. Considering my S23 barely even got even mildly or perceptibly warm and it’s half a year older on 4nm process, I’m not impressed nor fooled with Apples marketing lately.

15 Pro is being returned. Now I have to cancel or swap my Pitaka case for it asap!

I’ll get the 15 Pro form work or early spring for my son the camera and video will suit him better.

I should’ve got the 13 mini!!

Apple keeps making these bigger and bigger to the chagrin of many users like myself

I really wish that Apple would offer a smaller pro version iPhone - like the XS or 11 Pro form factor

The 14 Pro is bigger than the 13 Pro which was bigger than the 12 Pro which was bigger than the 11 Pro

If Apple is going to continue this trend, at least give users the option of the smaller, current size as well
Apple sees the iPhone in your Backpack, and the Apple Watch on your wrist.

Apple no longer thinks, nor do they advise, to have the iPhone anywhere near the body, let alone in your pocket.

According to their advisory, you should never raise it to your ear either, and only use Airpods to use your iPhone. Sadly I doubt they are going to keep anything smaller.

I finally broke down and added cell to my Apple Watch as I began to leave my iPhone in my house, or vehicle, or backpack when I went out, and only went to get my "iCamera" when I wanted to take a photo of something. Or needed a Mobile Hotspot.

Bring back the iPhone13-mini form factor with a better camera. My gut says Apple is waiting till they can offer their own modem, thus shrinking the required space that Qualcomm uses in their gigantic processor board.
