Hi all,

Since Apple started producing iPhones (this year also the iPhone 16 Pro) in India, I was wondering, how many of you (those who haven't bought in China or India) have received the iPhone 16 Pro made in China vs India. Since India just recently started producing iPhones and China has decades of experience ahead of India, I was wondering if the risk is higher to get your hands on a device with quality issues if it's made in India. I'm aware that Apple sets certain quality standards, but still...the human factor and lack of experience may affect the total outcome and thus quality.

In 12 days they will start manufacturing them in India.

Read towards the bottom of the article:

For the first time, even the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models will be shipped overseas from Indian factories. The iPhone 16 boasts to be one of Apple’s most advanced devices, incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) features.

So if we find defects now having them made in China for decades, I don’t know if Made in India will be any better quality or even worse

So I bought a 16 Pro Max 256 Go Natural Titanium and immediately noticed low-quality speaker and touch issues. When looking at the box I noticed the « assembled in India » mark. So I did had quality issues with my unit and I returned it. I bought in France btw so Indian iPhones are sold worldwide. anyone else has an « assembled in India » 16 Pro/ Pro Max ? I feel like I’m the only one..

I will probably get shunned off the forums for asking this. Where do we check to see where our device was manufactured?

16 Pro received yesterday in UK is made in India, build quality and screen is better than the other unit but still has the blue smear camera issue.

If i remember we went through this same type issue when Canon started building their small cameras in China and not in Japan, Canon had set up Mfg. plants in China and the quality remained the same as Japan.
Is Apple setting up the Mfg. plants in India? this is something people need to know.
