So what is the best one to go for then?
I’ve had the best experience with ESR (regular not Armolite) and Ailun.

With Spigen I had some issues, but some people say they sorted those out. Considering they are $18 for 2. I would recommend ESR or Ailun instead. Whichever is cheaper at the moment. Both include 3 protectors and an alignment tray that works.

I haven’t tried the Smartdevil others recommend as I’m in the US.

Is Smart Devil sold in the UK?

I have mine arriving today which I’m looking forward to trying.

Have had the same Torras protector on since release
Now. May and I got a dud but;

Firstly, I ordered two protectors and they sent me one.

The bend in the protector does feel good for swiping but the black borders do intrude the screen; as stiff and hard work as their installer is to use compared to others. 5£3 protector is perfectly aligned on the phone. I have a few bubbles that will not push out and also a 1cmx1cm section of the protector that just will not adhere to the screen.

As I said, a dud? Maybe. But certainly my experience has been nowhere near as good as the hype on here.

Ordered the trusty Torras for delivery tomorrow.

If I buy the Belkin for 16 pro in Apple store and have it installed by them and need a replacement under the warranty scheme, can I take it back to them to replace or have I got to do it through Belkin online? And if that is the case can I take it to the Apple store when I receive it from Belkin to install?
Cheers.

Thought I'd pop in and share my experience with Flolab for whoever it may help:

After getting 6ish months of use from my .7mm border 2D (2.5D?), I felt the oleophobic coating wasn't what it once was and, more importantly (to me), it had picked up a few scratches along the way. While I was otherwise very satisfied with the glass, the 3D version interested me for a couple of reasons: 1. The edges on the .7mm are by no means sharp, but they certainly exist and are noticeable when swiping and 2. While a minor issue in the grand scheme, I found the light bleed from the sides on the .7mm (and all other protectors I've tried) to be excessive. I thought the "seamless" nature of the 3D version might alleviate both of these (relatively minor) issues and I would have my version of a perfect screen protector.

While I was not able to get the 3D version directly as a warranty replacement for my 2D, support did at least provide a 50% discount code to use on it ($25ish after shipping instead of $10 for a direct replacement). Fast forward to today, I have received and installed the 3D version:

First and foremost, it's even more important to take your time and try to get this one lined up as close as you possibly can. Unfortunately, I trusted the install tray a bit too much and as a result, my protector is skewed very slightly down and to the left. It's minor enough that I will ride it out until it's time for a new piece of glass, but I must say screen coverage (specifically the lack thereof) was better on my .7mm install as a result. Due to the tolerances at play, there simply is no wiggle room to be had if you'd like to see every glorious edge pixel you paid good money for.

As far as the edges go, they certainly are smoother, though I don't know if I'd go so far as to say they are seamless or indistinguishable (they may very well be closer to seamless with a perfect install - I wouldn't know). Finally, light still bleeds out of the top, bottom, left, and right of the screen - I don't see how even a perfect install would really help here. I'd say it's slightly improved compared to the 2D version but it's looking like light bleed is an inevitability to some degree given the borders of the phone itself.

TLDR: My experience is that the 3D Flolab is a more "polished" product compared to the 2D, but it requires even more care and precision on the install in order to reap these benefits. The two are otherwise extremely similar - knowing what I know now I probably would've just put in a $10 warranty claim for another 2D, but then again I can't deny the 3D does have it's benefits over the 2D for anybody directly comparing the two. Hopefully I'll be able to nail the install on the next one!

This is my understanding. I bought the belkin at the Apple Store, last week I picked up a crack on the protector (still not sure how, phone was never dropped). I submitted a claim through belkin and the instructions said to take the replacement to the Apple Store for install

My new 16 Pro Max was delivered today. I bought two of the 3D Flolab screen protectors incase the first install goes wrong or the screen protector breaks overtime, so it cost me a lot of money! I only went with Flolab because reading reviews online, it seemed Flolab was the best out of the all screen protectors this year.

Reading many different comments on this thread, it looks like I made a big mistake! I can't even return the screen protectors for a refund since it was cost too much to send back from the UK. Is there a point installing it since many of the complaints on here seems to be about how hard it is to get a clean install... I am thinking if I should just buy a Spigen one from Amazon or go to the Apple Store tomorrow and buy the Belkin...

Personally I’d give it a shot. I wish the alignment tray had ever so slightly tighter tolerances but in my case it’s close enough that I don’t notice unless I’m actively looking closely for it. I’ve already gotten used to the smoother edges; I don’t think there’s any going back for me. That being said I can only speak for the Pro not the Pro Max. From what I’ve seen some people with the PM version have had more severe alignment issues to the point of lifting, air bubbles, etc - that I would not be able to live with. If you do attempt it, take a screenshot of your camera Ls and set it as your lock screen as a sort of alignment reference and pray to your deity of choice

Damn! What a waste of money and I have the 16 Pro Max!
No way should a screen protector costing this much have such issues....Funny how all the YouTubers seem to rate the Flolab as the best screen protector for the 16 Pro models! That alone should have made me wary.

So what is the best screen protector for the 16 Pro Max? I am thinking of maybe cutting my loses with the Flolab and perhaps trying the Spigen or ESR? Are they any better?

Torras is the best option.

But Ive also ordered this as well to try. Reduced to £11.

I just found this on AliExpress: £31.92 | Baseus 3D Curved Tempered Glass for iPhone 16 15 Pro Max Hot Bending Full Coverage Shatterproof Clear Corning Screen Protector

We’ll be waiting for your review. Seems to be the same as the Smartdevil one.
Is SmartDevil compatible with Caudabe Sheath?
That’s a good question. I installed mine last weekend but I’ve sold my sheaths I can’t test it until I receive the new version from Caudabe. It is fine with the apple silicone I have on now. Others have mentioned that it was ok with benks and spigen cases, but another member found the rebel cases to lift the protector.
