More zoom is good. But not sure whether it will increase for 16 Pro Max. 16 Pro will most likely have 5x zoom.
Your use case probably differs. But I seriously do not want more zoom unless they provide a 4th cam. Suppose they give a 10 times zoom, it will be digital zoom from 1.1 to 9.9, which means poor image quality for most day to day photography

If they are offering 10x, then it will be digital zoom from 1-9.9 for the main lens. This means it is worse for most people for day to day usage.

So unless you buy iPhone for bird photography, it is time for Apple to add a 4th lens, if they indeed intend to give us a super lens.
Maybe Apple will follow suit of Google Pixel, by applying a 48 mpx quad-bayer sensor not only to main but all 3 lenses. That will allow a quite acceptable zoom range from 13mm to 240mm, without leaving too much gap.

Then, they can add more virtual popular focals like 16mm & 20mm on the UW side, plus the addition of 240mm at the super tele end.

Still, the ~60mm to 120mm will remain a pothole to avoid. You can step back if possibe and use your creavity to take advantage of 5x lens. But opting for swipe pano with a standard aspect will also result in about a 90mm eqv. with higher pixel count. Perfect for static scenes and landscapes. Voila!
