The titanium models are consistent with the colors possible to them. Puzzled as to why they dropped the blue which was my favorite. No Product Red of course and that seems to have been dropped from all models as it was not in the 15 series either despite hopes that it would be an update color.. what's up with that.
Seems like they drop the "new color" every year. Green, blue, etc.

This would matter if 95% of people didn't use cases, or case manufacturers could only make the same colors as the phone itself.

I'm actually surprised Apple bothers with 4 different sku for Pros.

Impressive! Essentially the same colors as this year. Perhaps I’ll hold on to my 15 Pro for another year then since I doubt Apple is going to introduce a must have feature on the 16 Pro that the 15 Pro doesn’t have.

I use the clear case so yeah, it matters for me at least.

The Pacific Blue on the 12P a few years ago was stunning. The emerald green wasn’t too bad either. We can have color without it being Pastel.

But these phones look like business suits out of 1930.

My 13 Pro is forest alpine green and I think it looks great! It's in a case, but still.

/not upgrading to the 16

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about those. Not really my cup of tea but at least there was choice. Didn't at least one of those get added during the S year, while the original colours of that line were shades of grey? Maybe that'll happen again this year.

Personally I think it's a shame the Pro is limited to the titanium, it just looks like aluminium - one anodised coloured metal looks much like any other. I thought the old stainless steel looked much nicer.

Hard to judge the colors of a titanium phone without the titanium.

I hope the "rose" color is more interesting than these.

Yes, the Pro phones have always had more muted colors than the non-Pro. But the 13 Pro had Sierra Blue and Alpine Green, the 12 Pro had Pacific Blue, the 14 Pro had Deep Purple. It seems like the colors are getting more muted with each generation.

Deep Purple was awesome too! Still have mine and it's my favorite iPhone color to date.

Leaker Sonny Dickson is back today with a new dummy unit image showing three alleged iPhone 16 Pro color variants, including a seemingly darker Black Titanium unit compared to the color of the same name on existing iPhone 15 Pro models.

iphone-16-pro-colors-sonny.jpg

The iPhone 16 Pro models are expected to come in black, white or silver, gray or "Natural Titanium," and a rose or rose gold color replacing Blue Titanium, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and other leakers.

Dickson's image shows the white, black, and gray versions, but there is no sign of the much-rumored rose gold variant, which was recently described by one leaker as having more of a bronze-like hue. Apple did not include a gold option in the iPhone 15 lineup, so a similar variant could see heightened demand.

One rumor suggests that Apple is using an improved process for finishing and coloring titanium, which will result in a glossier look than the brushed aluminum finish of the iPhone 15 Pro models. The glossy finish could look much more like the stainless steel that Apple used in prior years, but it will be more resistant to scratches.

We don't actually know the official color names yet, but Apple may choose to stick with the Titanium colorway branding it used for the iPhone 15 Pro models. The next-generation iPhone 16 lineup is due to arrive around mid-September, so we will know for sure soon. Dickson revealed the colors for the standard (non-Pro) iPhone 16 models on Wednesday.

Stagnation.
Pure and simple.
Stagnation.

People are tired of buying the same iPhone 11SSSSSSSS
Over and over again.

A bump in spec here, a slight tweak in contour.

Apple is complacent and it’s boring and annoying. The Apple of my childhood is dead. No more glamour or innovation or risky design choices. ( I miss you iMac G4)

Just more of the EXACT same.

How does anyone justify or defend this?

I know fanboys will be here nay saying.
But I’m a consumer, I usually spend easily $20k every 2-3 years on devices for myself and my family. But since the iPhone 13PM and the M1 MacBook Pro and studio, there had been absolutely zero reason to spend a penny. Nothing reaches out and grabs me, nothing has such a spec bump it justifies the money.

I’m not the only one, I have dev colleagues that have completely dropped support for macOS because Xcode is a nightmare to compile. And unless you’re a massive company in the macOS/iOS arena there isn’t really any money to be made.

It’s like Apple just doesn’t care anymore.

How many of you go out to buy the same 2013 Toyota sedan every 3 years, for literally nothing to change but the placement of a button or a slight color deviation?

Where has apples sense of wonder gone?

We should stop referring to silver or black iPhones as "color". It's not. It's as bad as most car color choices these days. Let's call it lack-of-colors.

I thought the headline said "gravy" at first glance. That would be a tasty iPhone color!

get the colourful iphone 16 then. the pro phones have always had these kind of shades and colours
The iPhone 16 isn't even that colorful. The rumors suggest dull, boring colors. I'm more upset about this than I should be. The iPhone 15 colors were GREAT. Why did they f*** it up??

The iPhone 12 design lives on for yet another year. Seriously Apple can we have a refresh of the iPhone design language.

I have the iPhone 14 Pro Max. When I used Apple's comparison tool on the web, there perhaps were two or three differences between it and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Not enough to trigger a nearly $2,000 expense with sales tax and Apple care. I do not expect that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be any different - a few tweaks. I will extend Apple Care and see if the iPhone 17 Pro Max or whatever the top model would be called can justify that amount of money.

I have always had the Apple leather case on my iPhone that was available so color of the metal is really not an issue for me. The fiasco of the new "fabric" cases this model year means Apple will not get my business for a case anymore.

Also, my M1 14" MBPro Max and M1 MacStudio Ultra are working just fine. The fully optioned Studio cost close to $7,000 and it's trade in value in less than a year was around $1,200. Perhaps the M4 top end models may have interesting specs. I plan to keep the M1 Studio until MacOS no longer supports it and use it as a file server or main computer at our summer place. I might consider a 16" MBPro next time.

Apple's over $7k pricing for their top end laptops does thin the crowd who can afford Apple's latest and best.

The product name says it all. It is a phone and one expects to be able to talk to others and receive calls. All the rest of the "features" have loaded the device to the point of being a pocket computer. The feature bloat has blind sided us that a simple flip phone in the 90s did the same thing - make and receive phone calls.

Perhaps the "lack" of AI will be a feature we wish for in the future....

The blue I have is pretty nice, so that's not entirely true. This is lame af if these are the final colours. And why would someone go for a lesser device? That's just nonsensical.

wow so the iPhone 16 Pro is aimed for old and boring people now.
Has been for a minute, even the purple was pretty drab

I pray every day that we’ll get a pink or teal/cyan Pro. Not rose gold, real pink. I’ve started buying the base iPhone specifically for the colors because the Pros are so boring
