Funny you mention this - I've experienced a weird bug where the flashlight is "on" in software, but not actually emitting light "on" in hardware. Do you by chance have your flashlight mapped to the action button?
I saw this too one day. 3 hours of flashlight usage but it definitely wasn't on.

Had the same yesterday. Almost 5 hours of flashlight usage while the flashlight was turned on only for 1 min and then immediately turned off.

Yes experiencing poor battery life on my 16 Pro Max. Normally charge to 80% daily. Took off charger this morning around 6:45am. Moderate use with apps and a few calls. Shows 35%. I bet this drain has something to do with locations turned or Apple Intelligence.

Having the same issue here. A brand nem Iphone 16PM and need to charge mid day. already speaked 3 times with apple support, a lot of tests and logs and continue to having the same issues. Additional information in IOS 18.1
Very disappointed with this iPhone 16 PM battery life.

I also have a problem with the battery life of my brand new iPhone 16PM with iOS 18.1. Almost 6 hours of screen time.. very disappointing :(

I had the Home & Lock Screen battery drain bug in september on my previous iP14PM after I upgraded to iOS 18.0. That problem went away with a network reset.

Got the same bug again now on my new iP16PM with iOS 18.1. A network reset this time did NOT help. So I went for the iOS 18.2 Public Beta instead. I hope this helps. Time will tell.

I've noticed this problem as well on my iPhone 13. The battery is rock solid while using it but while idling overnight, it will lose on average 15% battery life overnight. Using it during the day with the screen off, I can listen to music or podcasts for a couple hours and I will lose maybe 2% battery drain. But overnight with the screen off, it will drain on average by 15%.

Strange! 🧐

Same with my 16 Pro. Updated to 18.1.1 but it still drains battery almost 1% per minute. I keep my phone on Airplane Mode with WiFi enabled most of the time — so there’s no extra drain from the cell modem. With my previous 13 Pro, the battery would last for a day and a half with moderate use. The 16 Pro drains in less than 10 hours with maybe 1 hour of that being active use.

It also gets noticeably warm from time to time when when I'm not using it or doing something basic like browsing Safari. Once it told me it couldn’t charge until my phone cooled down, even though it is in a house where the temp is 68 F.

Tried hard reset (vol up/down + power button), didn't help. Phone is plugged in most of the day, so it shouldn’t still be indexing or whatever. It's had at least 100 hours of being plugged in since the last update.

I have low power mode on, 50% screen brightness, zero background refresh, Apple Intelligence turned off, 120hz turned off. Just doing safari browsing I lose a percent every 10 to 20 minutes.

I was at 81% two hours ago. Spent 40 minutes driving using Apple Maps with screen off. 20 minutes of browsing at the above mentioned settings. Now at 64%.

That doesn’t seem right does it?

My iPad M1 12.9 used to do this several iterations of updates ago. I just…lived with it…sometimes it took a few days…one time an update…sometimes over a week. But that’s harder to do with a phone than iPad…
