The iPhone Air is either going to be a phone of epic and stellar quality or a flimsy, overpriced mess that’ll probably snap in half and die in an hour. LOL.

That second thing. It's going to be a flimsy, overpriced mess that’ll probably snap in half and die in an hour.

A thinner phone is stupid.

Yet functionally, it does the exact same thing, or less, than the last 7 iPhones. Who cares at this point. The only reason to even upgrade is Apple purposely dropping software support.

At the very least, they could make a smaller model that would appeal to those who don’t like the larger phones.

I know they're not real, but I love the vivid rainbow colors in two images on this article! They are lickable!

So much better than the dull colors of recent Pro models and the washed-out colors of the iPhone 15.

$1,199 will be a non-starter but $899? Yes please.

To all the confused people? Those of us who work all day with our fingers doing repetitive motions will love such a light but powerful phone, since Apple just won’t continue the mini line…

13 mini is already too old.

As I've been saying for the last few months, the 17 Air is a phone I'm looking forward to. Hopefully *credible* reviews (rather than rumors and forum putdowns) will soon be coming. If those are good, and following playing with one at an Apple Store, I'll be purchasing one.

I wouldn't worry about that. Apple flops were the domain of the previous CEO.

eSIm only, Poor battery, one camera, high price… All the ingredients for a flop, unless rumors are wrong
High price is the only thing on that list that the general public would care about. All other factors and specs only matter to nerds and power users.... If Apple prices this appropriately they will sell like hotcakes. That is of course a big IF

The only size not mentioned as an alternative is a narrow phone. So here is an image of a narrow Samsung concept someone did. I like the look, but not very practical, until rolling screens happen and it can get wider when needed.

Provided it still gets a day out of the battery it will be most welcome. An ongoing issue with large phones is weight and anything that reduces this through reduction in mass (or different materials) is most welcome. I've a fear that it will be like the S25 Edge and have a terrible battery until next year when they should hopefully adopt silicon carbon.
The S25 Edge’s battery life is terrible by some people’s measurements but not others. From PC Mag’s Edge review:

In our battery test, in which we stream HD video over Wi-Fi from YouTube with the screen at full brightness, the Edge lasted 16 hours and 15 minutes. That's better than the S25 (14 hours and 15 minutes), the S25+ (14 hours and 40 minutes), and the S25 Ultra (14 hours and 15 minutes). However, the S25 Edge+ falls short of the Pixel 9 Pro’s 17 hours and 25 minutes and the iPhone 16 Pro’s impressive 20 hours and 33 minutes. We asked Samsung if it's using any special software in the S25 Edge to assist with battery life, but we did not hear back at press time.“

I can only go on the anecdotal evidence I’ve heard on Podcasts from normally ardant Samsung fans.

Overall it will be a good phone. But have concerns regarding battery life and also the camera. Have to wait and see

Love those colors but single lens is hard pass for me.
The colours are all fantastic, I love every one of those over any iPhone colours except Project Red which is very similar. I would go with the green.

A single lens would be fine for me. I don't do much photography with my iPhone (but would do more if I could disable the image processing).

This! 👆

A modern iPhone 4/5 basically.

Small in X & Y while being a bit chonky on the Z.

Super in hand feel and durability.
me too. in 2020 when I was in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK, I bought a 2nd hand iPhone 5, and it was both the right price and the right size for me. I gave it to SB else recently, and it's still working…
