Apple plans to offer the iPhone 17 Air in at least four colors, including Black, Silver, Light Gold, and Light Blue, according to a leaker known as Majin Bu.

The new lighter blue color option for the device was first mentioned a day ago by Fixed Focus Digital, a Weibo account with more than two million followers, and Majin Bu said that he has confirmed this information with his own sources.

It is unclear if Light Gold and Light Blue will be Apple's actual marketing names for those colors, if this rumor proves to be accurate.

Majin Bu said that the Light Blue color will be similar to the Sky Blue finish offered for the latest MacBook Air, so perhaps Apple would opt to extend the Sky Blue name to the iPhone 17 Air. This is merely speculation on our part.

As a refresher, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to be the thinnest iPhone ever. However, the device is expected to have some compromises compared to iPhone 17 Pro models, including worse battery life, only a single rear camera, only a single speaker, and potentially either an A19 chip or a slightly limited version of the A19 Pro chip.

The device is also expected to have a 6.6-inch OLED display, MagSafe, and 12GB of RAM.

Apple should unveil the iPhone 17 Air in September.

Majin Bu has a mixed track record with Apple rumors. The account was recently accurate about iPadOS 26 introducing a Mac-like menu bar.

So there are two bumps: the first bump and THEN a camera bump?

I'm guessing they did that so the camera bump wouldn't be so pronounced - or am I missing something?

Looking back at apples old color pallets I believe it's highly unlikely that there would be a strong black color along side the more pastel tones. If there ends up being a black alongside these other colors id expect it to be a lot lighter.

I think the current believe is that the camera bump is exactly as it was, just that the first step got broadened up a lot. So it's really nothing "new" in the sense of how many levels it has.
You'll probably just sink it all in a case as most people do with current models.

Spot-on. Seems the only people who make noise about the camera bump are people on tech forums needing to find something, anything, to take a swing at Apple. It happens on every single iPhone release. Nobody else cares.

The full-width camera "bump" on the 17 line is truly hideous. Jony Ive has most definitely left the building.
I'm surprisingly OK with that. I don't like the way the iPhone doesn't lie flat when placed face up on a surface. This will, at least, solve that problem. As for the aesthetic, opinions will vary in terms of taste. I agree, though, that the Air model looks somewhat unappealing due to the lack of cameras on the bar. The other models use that space with camera elements so the space seems utilitarian.

I would not say nobody. For me personally I would love the entire phone to be thicker again. My hand is big enough. Use the space to make it more sturdy, fit for careless use, and to give it more battery using the rest of the space.

It certainly would look better than the four levels of height you get right now. Base level of the phone, camera bump, lenses, magsafe power bank or wallet. It's really kinda messy design. Remember that weird case apple had with the build in battery bump?

It's nothing new, but it certainly could be better.

It still won’t lie flat, as the actual lenses are even more protruded from the phone 🤷‍♂️

Colors are ok but pretty boring. I bet they are the same as the 17 Pro's.

It looks to me that it will still wobble. Less than if the bump didn’t extend to the other side, but still. It would be different if there was a camera on each side.
