May need the 48 Mega Pixels on all three phases of the iPhone camera like on the iPhone 17 for our scheduled travels this year. Will have to see.

One would think that one made in June 2026 would have nearly all the unannounced production line improvements by then.

The iPhone has ALWAYS had the top spot.

It’s asinine to count the sales of $100 smartphones and compare them to the iPhone. Apple doesn’t sell budget devices. The majority of Samsung phone sales worldwide are budget. Their flagships are a small fraction of total sales.

as consumers who bought phones during the pandemic boom are now ready to upgrade.
Its a rigged system. Designed rapid obsolescence is integrally built into the OS. Its not that consumers are ready to upgrade -- its that they are forced to upgrade every few years if they want the darn thing to continue working properly

Bull. iPhones have the longest support of anyone. They were getting 6-7 years back when Android devices were getting 2-3 years.

* I need to update this chart for iOS 26.

It’s a great phone. I was considering the Pro, but they are so ugly this year. The 17 is the sweet spot for sure.
I’m still rocking 13P, been meaning to upgrade for a few years but always keep postponing. Oh well, mb next year.

What is more important for me in new iPhones is the ability to turn off (with unverifiable electronic slide switches) all aspects of AI. None at all is better than a crippled version of AI limping along spilling my information where ever.

And fix camera control, with that button to be used only for quickly snapping a photo(s) and rapidly initiating a video recording. Pare down to a simple QuickSnap button with speed in mind 💥
No please, I use the touch sensitive Camera Control for zooming all the time while.

Just goes to show when Apple innovates and comes up With hardware and software changes that matter business increases

I can appreciate some like yourself do use it, the problem is for most it complicates the button, and the device, and creates a layer of mental overhead. It's very much like the Touch Bar in that regard. New UX for getting to functions, but too fussy for the average user. Some people understand it replicates the Camera functions but would rather use the screen, and thus it becomes more redundant than anything. You might be surprised how many people want Apple to outright get rid of the button. I'm offering an alternative to getting rid of it—far more focused and common use case—snapping photos fast—with bonus preview-the-camera function.

If the average price of each unit is $1000, that's an absolutely mind boggling $243 billion in revenue. I know the math is pretty simple, but the sheer amount of units sold at that price is just nuts.... but great for the stock!

I never believed in designed rapid obsolescence till they dropped *OS 26. The way this crippled perfectly functioning devices across the board is laughable, especially since in the name of a childish "glass" UI.

Good to hear about this and great for Apple. With the base 17 being an incredible iPhone, many will be purchasing/upgrading. The future 20th anniversary model should also sell very well. Not sure on how many will purchase the foldable.

After so many years, Tim finally caved in to give us Pro-Motion on regular iPhone modals. So no surprise that modal is selling as smoothly as the scrolling on the IP17 screen. Was Tim's generosity providing Pro-Motion features for "free" on base modals coincidentally linked to rumors about his stepping down from the crown? Awww Tim.... you stopped counting the beans you softee.

It also shows Apple's issues with AI is not affecting it.
I doubt it is, most people are really not interested in AI.
I am still amazed that so many people spend so much on a phone, no matter who it is produced by. I chatted to someone a week ago who is spending £60 a month for a Iphone 17pro, increasing to £70 at some point. Sure they get unlimited everything, but still a lot of money £1300 for the phone.
Crazy people

I did think about buying the 16E, but I really don't see the point in spending £500 for a phone, when a £150-£200 phone will do the same job.

Up to people at the end of the day, but it is some of these people paying loads of money out that then complain they are struggling to pay their normal bills, Rent, Mortgage, energy, that sort of thing. I just don't understand some people

Apple would have even more success if they didn't go with Liquid Glass! The iOS is still garbage.
Liquid glass can be toned down, I have done that with my Mac. I have never been that fond of IOS, which is one reason I have stayed clear of Iphones and also the price of them.

Personally im loving the liquid glass, and ios 26 in general. Aesthetically it looks very good, the glass transparency etc just love it.

The problem with those £150-200 Android phones is primarily security and constant adverts. Concerning enough that ive made sure my parents do not install on line banking apps on their phones.

I have Liquid Glass on my Mac mini and it's the worst MacOS ever designed!
