May need the 48 Mega Pixels on all three phases of the iPhone camera like on the iPhone 17 for our scheduled travels this year. Will have to see.

One would think that one made in June 2026 would have nearly all the unannounced production line improvements by then.

as consumers who bought phones during the pandemic boom are now ready to upgrade.
Its a rigged system. Designed rapid obsolescence is integrally built into the OS. Its not that consumers are ready to upgrade -- its that they are forced to upgrade every few years if they want the darn thing to continue working properly

Bull. iPhones have the longest support of anyone. They were getting 6-7 years back when Android devices were getting 2-3 years.

* I need to update this chart for iOS 26.

What is more important for me in new iPhones is the ability to turn off (with unverifiable electronic slide switches) all aspects of AI. None at all is better than a crippled version of AI limping along spilling my information where ever.

Just goes to show when Apple innovates and comes up With hardware and software changes that matter business increases

No please, I use the touch sensitive Camera Control for zooming all the time while.
I can appreciate some like yourself do use it, the problem is for most it complicates the button, and the device, and creates a layer of mental overhead. It's very much like the Touch Bar in that regard. New UX for getting to functions, but too fussy for the average user. Some people understand it replicates the Camera functions but would rather use the screen, and thus it becomes more redundant than anything. You might be surprised how many people want Apple to outright get rid of the button. I'm offering an alternative to getting rid of it—far more focused and common use case—snapping photos fast—with bonus preview-the-camera function.

If the average price of each unit is $1000, that's an absolutely mind boggling $243 billion in revenue. I know the math is pretty simple, but the sheer amount of units sold at that price is just nuts.... but great for the stock!

I never believed in designed rapid obsolescence till they dropped *OS 26. The way this crippled perfectly functioning devices across the board is laughable, especially since in the name of a childish "glass" UI.

Good to hear about this and great for Apple. With the base 17 being an incredible iPhone, many will be purchasing/upgrading. The future 20th anniversary model should also sell very well. Not sure on how many will purchase the foldable.
