Jobs has been dead for over a decade. Let it go.once again the lack of features (which should be standard, such as fast usb c) on the base models push people to the pro models. I know some people won't care about the higher specs, but a lot will, and there is no reason why some of this stuff couldn't be on the base 17, but isn't. cynical. jobs never really did that. it was one phone, per year, 2 colours, same features across both.
This is how Apple makes money. Sometimes the entry level products have a compelling price but you often have to add a $100 upgrade for higher spec. When you do that, you then say "I might as well go pro for an extra $100". Boom! Apple managed to psych you into spending an extra $200.once again the lack of features (which should be standard, such as fast usb c) on the base models push people to the pro models. Some of these decisions are just price and feature differentiation and are not necessarily cynical. However, I doubt the USB controller that allows for USB 3 speeds is really a high cost item. So you win on that point, I guess. That being said, the base iPhone 17 gets some pretty decent formerly-reserved-for-the-Pro features this year, like the display. It has all the same buttons. I think it's reasonable to have the camera systems differentiate. I'd be hard pressed to find a missing features that will matter to most folks.once again the lack of features (which should be standard, such as fast usb c) on the base models push people to the pro models. Not what this article says, https://wccftech.com/all-iphone-17-...e 17 models can connect to the 320MHz channelNope. Thats for next year or two with the N1X.

I have confirmed it is 160 MHz still: https://www.macrumors.com/2025/09/13/apple-n1-chip-has-wi-fi-7-limitation/Bring me 320 channel width damnit!
OK thanks.I have confirmed it is 160 MHz still: https://www.macrumors.com/2025/09/13/apple-n1-chip-has-wi-fi-7-limitation/
Read the FCC document. My cousin works for the engineering department at Apple.
no.Your original post made a vague comment that Apple is “crippling” their iPhones implying they’re all slow. Since the 15 Pro they’ve had 10Gbps speeds.
