I would love to see an Air Mini. I miss small phones. I should have bought the SE's before but I was in a bigger-is-better phase that I've since grown out of. I just want something that can fit in my pocket without it looking like I have an angular armadillo in my trousers.
Right? It's bad enough I'm already walking around with an armadillo in my trousers. Don't need a large phone adding to the girth. Sign me up for the Air Mini!!!

Dang. Hearing about scratches on the deep blue iPhone 17 Pro makes me worried. Wondering if I should have went with silver.
I think silver is the safe color this year for the Pro. It appears to be a nice looking silver. If you want to be bold and can live with it for the next few years, orange may be for you. A case will definitely be your friend if you get the deep blue.

"There is no titanium this year, because Apple discovered that it wasn't great for dissipating heat." - This made me chuckle. They didn't discover this, it's been known for a very long time (e.g. Ti thermals). I find it hard to believe Apple didn't know this. Titanium's thermal properties have been very well understood for a very long time. A high school textbook would tell you it is one of the more inferior metals (in any of its alloys) for this purpose.

Apple employs some of the world's most talented people, there's no way they didn't know. They chose it knowing this (for what reasons, likely only they can say).

The trade-off had issues, I assume. Strength vs Heat, and Heat won out this iteration. Maybe Strength will make a comeback?

iPhone 17 pro max is amazing, makes my 13 pro max feel as slow as molasses

I hope for an Air with bottom speaker instead of USB-C port next year.
Why has the Air to be even wider making it even more uncomfortable to hold with my small hands. My hands don‘t grow with every iPhone generation.

The Air will be the winner. Maybe not at the start, but over time.

Why: It has all the essentials of a modern phone and does not feel and look like a tumor.

Air is cool but not as comfortable to hold and use as the 6.3” models. Something about the width/height makes me not like it. For as light as it is, the edge kind digs at pink and i find myself needing to readjust it in my hand more to use the screen. Of course the larger screen is beautiful, but think after like 6 hours of use i’m pretty settled on sticking with the small Pro this year.

I think Apple should’ve gone more extreme with the iPhone Air. I wish the display size had been smaller so it wouldn’t only be even lighter but also easier to cary.
The Air's thin battery would have had to be reduced in size significantly further to achieve a significantly smaller screen and housing, and people would then complain about its further-reduced runtime. Maybe after Apple starts using more advanced battery technology, an Air variant with smaller width and height might be practical.

I think Apple should’ve gone more extreme with the iPhone Air. I wish the display size had been smaller so it wouldn’t only be even lighter but also easier to cary. I wish they’d removed the USB-C port and made a portless phone (Apple can find a wireless solution for DFU mode). Right now the Air is lighter than the other phones, but not by much.

I loved the 2015 12” MacBook, and I think it was a more extreme version of the MacBook than the iPhone Air is in the iPhone line-up. Should’ve been more like that.

I would’ve been interested in the Air if it had been more extreme like this, and without shiny borders.
Apple may have wanted to hit a certain battery life, and the Air's 6.5" may have been the smallest size possible to do that at that thickness. A smaller Air at the same thickness would have decreased battery life, so to maintain that battery life minimum the smaller phone would be likely need to be thicker, thus making it not Air. Or who knows, maybe Apple would be ok with shorter battery life for an Air Mini.

There isn't a 17 for the Air. Mainly, because:

1) It's not needed
2) Being light, it's doesn't need the baggage
3) It's in a league of it's own.
