iPhone 17 Models Likely to Support 25W Wireless Third-Party Chargers

I charge with whatever's at hand.

If it's a magsafe charger in the kitchen, so be it. That's where my phone is when I'm in the kitchen.

If it's a cable in the car, so be it. That's where my phone is when I'm in the car.

If it's a magsafe charger in the home office, so be it. Guess where the phone is when I'm in the home office?

Magsafe does heat up the battery, but I'm not worried about it. If the battery is down to 79%, I'll have it replaced. But that hasn't happened...ever. I'll end up buying a new phone before that happens, and I'm on a 4-year cycle for my iPhone.

My other phone (android) has 120W charging speed, battery life is at 97% after a year of use. It's really hard to go back to Apple's slow speed after this. Come on Apple. Use Silicon carbon and support at least 90W charger.

This why I now have multiple USB-C chargers. I need them to charge my iPhone 16 Plus and iPad Air 13" (M3) quickly.

Wireless charging seems like an inefficient gimmick to me. The battery also gets hotter than with wired charging which can affect the lifespan.

You can relax. The battery gets WARM. Not hotter. Hotter shortens battery lifespan. Warmer does not.
