I just cannot stop thinking about what could be hidden in that rectangular camera island. I keep thinking some sort of AI chip hiding there, perhaps for some sort of AI image processing.

Otherwise, it makes little to no sense to have that sort of shape, and if it does not have any new features hidden there, this will be yet another meh update.

Probably most of the lens.

I'm sure that anti-reflective display option will take it up a notch or two price-wise, maybe another $100 surcharge above the base "non-anti-reflective" model. It certainly won't be a universal feature on all the pro line. Most will probably end up paying for a "feature" they couldn't tell if it's there or not there.

What? No mention of relocated Apple logo? ;)
But they kept the rectangular bump and a color as a feature.

The more I read the specs after being on a 15 and 16 pro this really doesn’t sound like a upgrade for either of these camps unless Apple chooses to lock out and bread crumb some other feature that could be used on the previous gen only for the sake of pushing sales on the new device.

Either way, they still can’t fix the O2 sensors being locked out in the US on new Apple Watches and that says volumes on how much Greed has.

Having an 'always with me camera' is a boon, but is that bump and expected price hike worth the candle?

The rumored 5/8x tele optical zoom will be the one feature wanting me to upgrade to a 17PM from my 13PM...
5 or so more weeks to go til we know for real

I will be upgrading from my 16 Pro Max to the 17 Pro Max. The new features seem worth it to me. The resale value of my 16 Pro Max makes it an easy decision. I will be ordering the nanotexture display.

you do know how 360 cameras look like and work? You‘d need a bulge for the front camera, both would need to be basically the same sensor and so on.
It’s not only not going to happen, it’s, so far, not possible OR a feature anyone would actively use.
Hehe you forgot about AI?

The triple 48mp image sensors.

the dynamic island gimmick is old and time for a full screen. if they do that, plus the upgraded screen with the Anti-Reflective Display then maybe I'll dump my iPhone 12 Pro. other than that - it's another year with the "best iPhone ever made".
