. from my post you should be able to see that i know what size a phone sensor is compared to APS-C, don't you think?
actually from your post I can say for sure you just know the difference from APS-C and Full Frame 🤷🏻‍♂️
By the way on the forum not everyone is aware of that, so to clarify it even better is not a problem.

The use of that screwy terminology with improper fractions for sensor sizes is such a pain!

1/1.3"? 1/1.28"?

The irony is that you can't use a calculator to figure out the real size of the sensor. When a sensor is measured in inches, the number describes the width of an imaginary cathode ray tube that would have a sensitive area the same as the actual chip.
You can calculate the size, but it's a bit of work. The 1" is the size of the tube, which would fit a 16mm diagonal 3:4 sensor. So the diagonal of a 1/1.28" sensor is 16/1.28 mm = 12.5 mm.

To calculate the length I used Pythagoras: diagonal^2 = length^2 * height^2

length = (diagonal^2 / 1 + ratio^2 )^0.5
height = length * ratio
area = length * height

So
1/1.28" equates to 75mm^2 surface area
1/1.3" equates to 72.7mm^2 surface area
