Congratulations! 🥳

Are you planning to use it with or without a case?
With a case, a colleague of mine has had his blue 17 Pro for a few months and it is still in pristine condition as he uses it in a slim case.

Without a case you should mostly be fine but it will pick up scuffs if you tend to drop your phones or keep them in a pocket with keys a lot.

I did pick up a case (Spigen tough armor) that has the phone secured all around. I did some doomscrolling of reviews and found that my color choice was the most affected by daily use (abuse). Aside from that, I really like the dark blue despite it being the most prone to scratches from being a daily driver.

Wife and I upgraded a week go, me from a 16 pro her a 15 pro max.
Blue max for me silver max for her.
Great phones, battery is so good v our old ones.
Was a cheap upgrade after selling the old phones and getting a discount on the new.
Good to go.

Have to say still thoroughly enjoying my 17 Pro Max, especially since iOS23 dropped, most bugs that I faced are gone and the phone overall is stable, that Respring issue has not reared its ugly head since 26.3, I am now on 26.3.1.
Battery life has been phenomenal to say the least.
In terms of heat, even when plugged-in in my car it has been running cooler than before, it still gets warm with Waze but not hot, unplug it and it runs cool, between the aluminium and vapour chamber, a job well done by Apple.

That is brilliant and enjoy your new beast! 🙌😁

So on the Artemis 2 live feed they were talking on the coms that they are struggling to use the iPhone to take photos of the earth , saying that it appeared washed out and compared it to when you try to take a picture of the moon from the your house at night it just appears as a white blob.
They went on the say the 400mm camera (if I heard right) was able to take photos perfectly fine .
Just thought that was interesting .

I really like the direction Apple is taking with the smaller Dynamic Island. It’s a subtle change, but it definitely helps make the display feel more immersive and less obstructed, which is always a plus.

Also, just to be clear, I actually like the two‑tone flash design. I think it adds a bit of character, and when done right, it works well with the overall camera layout.

My concern is more about the rear design—specifically what looks like the battery casing area on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. From what I’ve seen so far, that section doesn’t feel well integrated with the rest of the back panel. It looks visually separate, almost like a flat layer that’s been added on top rather than something that’s part of a seamless build.

The best way I can describe it is that it gives off a “pasted paper” look—like there’s a patch or insert sitting there instead of a continuous material. This kind of breaks the premium, unified design language that Apple usually nails. Even if the materials are high-quality in reality, the visual impression in renders/leaks makes it feel less refined.

If that area were blended more smoothly—either through better finishing, matching texture, or more cohesive design—it would make the whole back look a lot cleaner and more intentional.

I would like to see a blinking red light when an email or text msg arrives. Can someone help me with that? Thanks.

I just ordered my 2TB Deep Blue 17 Pro Max this morning and am looking to purchase this Pitaka Aramid carbon case for my new iPhone. I have this case for my Air and love the look and feel so I figured this will be a great case for the Pro Max when it comes in.

Curious, what do you use the 2TB for? Sort of a field backup for an ILC camera? Moviemaking? Primary storage for a big iCloud Photos directory?

I always get my Pro series devices in their max storage configuration no matter the series.

Do you actually use more than 1TB or do you just max out the specs because you can?
I max out specs because once you get the device you can never add more storage if you end up running out. You’re stuck with what you have so that is why I always get my devices fully spec’d when purchasing them.

I would rather have more storage than not enough . . .

After nearly a year of using my 17 pro max I am STILL happy with it. The 18 Pro Max doesn't seem like a worth while upgrade if the reports are true and the foldable phone seems like it will have a ton of problems upon launch (plus 2K is too much for a phone). I will be holding on to my 17 pro max until either the iPhone 19 or the 20th anniversary phone.

Just got mine today after upgrading from the 15 pro max

Nice.. I'm surprised you weren't willing to wait on the 18 PM next month. There may not be much difference though, most likely an "S" upgrade. I have the 17 PM as well in silver, but I don't use it much, I prefer my Samsung s26 ultra for it's camera. Hopefully the new iPhone 18 pm will have better cameras & software. Otherwise I won't get one. Anyway, congrats on the new iPhone

Well I know there is going to be a price hike and I didn't want to pay even more. That's why I didn't wait for the 18 pro max. I'm going to get the folding iphone once the shortages have died down.
