Alleged images of the iPhone 17 Pro Max's internal design have surfaced, offering a potential look inside the device before it is announced by Apple next month.

The images were shared by the account "yeux1122" this week, in a blog post on the Korean platform Naver. The account aggregates Apple rumors and leaks, so it is likely not the original source of the images, and it is unclear if they are legitimate.

In any case, it is unlikely that these images are showing official CAD files from Apple, but they still might provide an accurate look at what is rumored.

The images show that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will apparently feature a metal-covered battery, as previously rumored. There will apparently be two versions of the battery, with the L-shaped one in the image below to be used in iPhone 17 Pro models that still have a physical SIM card tray. The battery is expected to be more rectangular in iPhone 17 Pro models that lack a physical SIM card tray, such as those sold in the United States.

The metal cover would help to dissipate heat generated by the battery. Apple already uses a metal-covered battery in the iPhone 16 Pro, but the standard iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16 Pro Max batteries still have black foil covers.

The batteries in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus use a type of adhesive that can be loosened with low-voltage electrical current, from a 9V battery or another power source. Another leaker known as "Majin Bu" expects the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max batteries will also be removable in the same manner.

The images also show the iPhone 17 Pro Max with a much larger camera bump compared to previous models, as widely rumored by this point.

You can also see the position of the MagSafe system, and the charging port.

Overall, the image does not reveal anything that has not already been rumored by this point, but it does help to reinforce expectations.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 17 series in less than a month from now.

I’m so glad to see the Pro line going back to a full aluminum case, the best heat dissipation from all the materials tested.

I guess this year the cameras are making a big jump in quality, but I’m still not sure if that bump will allocate something else besides the camera system, such as… the rumored vapor chamber? Or maybe all the antennas and comm chips in there?

So funny that people were convinced they got an upgrade in the form of titanium. Now all of a sudden they’ll find out they paid for a downgrade. But it’s all good, of course!

I think the iPhone 17 Pro Max will be the first new that I will not buy. I think that enlarged back camera hump is so ugly and from what we know now per the rumors is that this will be a pretty good camera update. I do not take professional photos, and my iPhone 16 Pro Max really does a great job for photos and videos for me. It is going to take more than a new camera system to get me to bite this year! If I do end up not buying the iPhone 17 PM, it was a good run from the OG iPhone through iPhone 16 PM, haha!

Of course, I have said in the past I was not going to buy a new iPhone before, and ended up pre-ordering that new iPhone...so who knows. I am really more interested in the AW Ultra 3, and AirPods Pro 3. I am not completely sure the AirPods Pro 3 will be announced at the iPhone event or a month or two later? The MacRumors product guide says September 2025, but I could see them being released in October or November. Anyway, hope everyone enjoys whatever they buy from Apple in a few weeks!

I admit the Ti is a bit of a gimmick but you're comparing two different body designs. This rumored structure will be far more rigid than the glass-metal-glass Oreo we've had for several generations. There is a LOT of metal in this design and it would cost a fortune to use Titanium instead of aluminum (for a number of reasons).

I feel like "Old Apple" would have offered a Titanium option anyway - the same thing as the Pro Max and just add $500 to the cost knowing not many will buy it but it's a cool "halo" product.

My God, that’s one ugly phone we are getting this year.
I’ve never been more convinced pre-release renders are wrong.

The back won’t look like that and I don’t think the Apple logo is moving either. Nobody cares about it lining up with magsafe, the clear case will either not be offered or will be redesigned.

To think the entire phone would be ugly in order to center magsafe behind the logo is moronic and I can’t believe people keep sharing that design like it’s final or was even ever considered.

For similar reasons I don’t understand why nobody is talking about 2TB.

Remember the days when the iPhone didn't have leaks like this, and seeing the iPhone 4 in the wild was the only leak we got? I guess they stopped doubling down.

That was a long time ago. I just think now with the sheer amount of phones being produced, across multiple countries, and the ease of sharing stuff, it's impossible to prevent leaks in the way Apple used to.

You will buy it. It's a lock.

Battery that leaks? Do you understand why the battery is contained in a metal shell? Your comment makes me think you don't understand the objective and what it accomplishes.
I think he's making a joke about the ambiguity of the title of the article. Technically, "...with metal battery..." is a prepositional phrase, and the subject/verb is "...design leaks..."

But I think it's still funny.

Note: I made a post with the same joke, but the other guy beat me to it!
