Just for info:
Pixel 8/9 Pro cameras are a lot better than the Pixel 10 Pro camera.
Really? I had an 8 Pro, then a 9 Pro and now have a 10 Pro XL and all I can see is incremental improvements. You are saying that the 8/9 Pro camera is a lot better than the 10 Pro? I don’t see that. What makes them better than the current model for you? I assume you’ve actually owned these models and used them extensively . . . .

Try Open Camera. Free and open source. Use Camera API 2, disable noise reduction and edge detection sharpening= better than RAW files, however it will probably be stuck at 12MP, had not tested it with many high megapixel Android phones yet
Oh it works ok but like most hobbyist apps on android the ui is atrocious

The camera bump certainly looks better on the pixel.

Honestly though, I would spend that $1000 on a real camera with an 1" sensor instead of a phone since phone cameras are never going to real cameras.

The best camera is the one you have with you.
Of course you can get a better stand alone camera but will it sit at home unused?

Do ya think. Duh
Yeah, making such an outrageous Apple Fan-boy comment like 'hands down the best’. The difference is marginal and can be interpreted either way depending on personal preferences. 'hands down the best’ makes it sound like there is a huge difference in favour of the iPhone - and realistically that is absolutely not the case. Arguments can be made for almost any flagship phone carrying the crown for best camera. Have a look at MKBHD’s blind phone camera test where millions of people voted for the photographs they preferred. The iPhone certainly wasn’t 'hands down the best’ and any improvements since have been incremental and shared with other brands too.
