I have a DockKit compatible motorised dock that is great for FaceTiming between my young kids with my parents, it tracks and follows us a full 360degrees completely hands free. Great for when you have a babe in arms!

I would be very interested to know if the new Center Stage feature “Turbocharges” the utility of the DockKit SDK and enabled devices, or if it causes issues.

Would love to see a reply from anybody who has both and can share their experience.

And yet we still cannot start a group selfie timer by just raising our hand towards the camera. That's one particular but very convenient feature I'd love for them to copy from android.

Every time I do that on my Fold, all my iPhone family and friends are like WOW how did you do that 😅
Samsung was always ahead of everyone in the game, I guess that feature is more than 12 years old. They even had dual camera videos ever since 2016 or 2017, and Apple had only realized this can be brought to iPhones too. Moreover, most Samsung's One UI features are even better than stock Android and what Google offers, as well as their apps work much better.

No wonder if they copy 200mp camera in 2 years and say it is "revolutionary".

I would only love Samsung's software to become less cluttered - no preinstalled google bloatware with a choice given to install those or not

The new front camera is really the star of the show for me. The quality is so much better. Throwing in the landscape view while still vertical is a game changer. No more awkwardly trying to hold the camera in landscape view while keeping your hand/arm out of frame.

Most likely this will be added/fixed in an upcoming update.

I was about to say it went through an entire beta and wasn't fixed, but then I remembered no one on the beta (outside of apple employees) was actually testing the new camera.

Where I really want this is FaceTime. I want landscape/portrait to be decided by how the other person's phone/table/computer/TV is oriented; not mine! And vice versa.

I wouldn't be FaceTiming when I have my babe in my arms!

This is great. Selfies are always a problem when you have more than one person in the frame...
BTW RayBan Meta Smart Glasses had a square sensor back in 2021.
You got a square video that you could either crop vertically or horizontally after it was taken.
Yeah being able to choose orientation after capturing video sounds amazing… Too bad iPhone doesn’t do this!!

As a photographer, I've always wanted a square sensor camera so capture as much as possible from the lens, with the ability to preview with portrait or landscape crops or just shoot fully square, ala Hasselblad. I didn't expect it to come out as an iPhone front camera first, but it's cool tech that I hope proliferates to the rest of the iPhone cameras and beyond that to full size pro cameras, too.
