Your comment highlights exactly the point that premium means different things to different people. To me, it means the look, the feel, and the overall experience. To others, it means the spec sheet.
100%. For me Spec chasing isn’t premium, in fact some of the wanna be android phones boast specs better than iPhone or even Pixel.

This is what really puts me and others off ever posting on forums. I have nothing to lie about, no reason to lie, and nothing to gain whatsoever.
It won’t dent in its own as the aluminium used is the same grade as the 6S. My 6S has survived 10 years with no dents whatsoever and has been dropped over a hundred times.

No one is saying you’re lying. Someone has dropped it, it might not have been you.

I am aware of that and I'm not too hung up on the definition of the perception of premium tbh. I want the best camera in my pocket as for me that is an essential need for my job and family. My current phone is a 16 Pro Max wich is titanium and perceived as premium for some I am sure. My wife has a 17 pro and although it feels a lot cheaper made, its got the best camera in the range and its something we'll benefit from long term. It is also used in a case, much like mine so the exterior is only visibe via the camera bump anyway.

Android doesn't enter the equation if you're an Apple customer though. Sure, I could get a much better spec phone from Samsung, but is doesn't have the operating system I need or want so its obselete to me. I chose to buy the best spec within the Apple range only. Not bothered by premium feel tbh, just the best camera available.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I want to emphasize that I’m not saying there is a right or wrong way to perceive “premium.” People simply seem to understand it in very different ways. I completely understand your perspective.

The Air is far from being a premium phone though. Its an SE spec device in the middle of the line up and given a shiny exterior. Having bought Pro devices for the last few years, I can't say the materials used were ever in the purchasing equation for me.
The thing is a lot of people have had to justify what makes it special outside of it being thin, so if Apple decide to make an Air out of Aluminium next year those people will need to readjust what they see as “premium” 😂

I don’t say you lie. I say you don’t know what actually happened. Very different things, and very different from „nothing ever happened to the phone except for being in a case.“
When you post things like your phone dented from nothing but „simply being in a case“, people might ridicule you. Because that is not what happened.
Because that never happened. And never will.
It’s fine to share your opinion and experience with the softer chassis material. It’s not fine to claim the impossible.
