Still waiting for the iPhone 9 rumors.
Stainless steel vapor chamber means the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will be a little heavier than the 17 Pro/17 Pro Max.
They have to do a black next year for sure.I think black is more likely than red.
I'd have said black is more likely than orange, but here we are... Let's see in a years time if it was just a 1 year absence or a continued trend. Luckily I prefer blue anyway so it was an easy choice for me but I know so many that prefer black.I think black is more likely than red.
Think the next year's update will be a small one. It will have the usual chip improvements and maybe a smaller dynamic island. Hope Apple will have a bright color for the Pro every year going forward. Apple's star will be their foldable in 2026.
Yes. Now it is two toned. Love the orange but would have liked glass to have similar color as that of aluminium. The back glass on the navy one matches a lot better than the back glass on the orange one. The glass colour choice on both were not accidental, but if their intention was to create more contrast on the orange one to make it even more unique that decision was somewhat misguided. A more blended transition with a glass colour closer to the orange aluminium colourway might have been nice.
What's your idea of what they should be doing, if not releasing new products like you're complaining about?Just think of the incredible things Apple could be doing with the resources they use to keep this annual upgrade nonsense going. I am learning to hate Cook.
The 2nm fab is supposed to bring significant power savings (up to 20%) and same with the C2. Hopefully we also finally see 16GB of RAM and a smaller, less intrusive Dynamic Island.Improved thermal management over first gen system in 17 Pro Max and C2 modem is reason to wait for the 18 Pro Max.
My iPhone 16 Pro Max will suffice until then.
The two-toned look is especially evident in MKBHD's video.Yes. Now it is two toned. Love the orange but would have liked glass to have similar color as that of aluminium.
Think carriers might push back if Apple goes all eSIM in 2026? Even in iOS 26, a file manager that I used in my Android, isn't available. App store has this, but it's not the real one. I want this file explorer to be installable from the App Store. (Both's name is same but actually aren't) Is there any way to request apple to bring it? I hope they will by 2026...I tend to agree re next year being minor improvements to the Pro. Going to the next generation in geometry could see fairly significant improvements in performance and power, efficiency especially if that is coupled with any significant changes to any of the CPU/GPU/NPU architectures, and if so that gives Apple something to focus on in the launch event to distract away from the fact that there are very few if any other significant improvements.
I also suspect that 2026 might be the year when Apple pushes the eSIM-only versions out to more territories, perhaps to every territory so that it can get back to only having one internal design for each model (same PCB, same battery shape, same internal layout, same manufacturing process/steps apart from the case colour application, etc). Tim is a logistics man so I'm sure he wants to get to that point ASAP.
If Apple can overcome the current issues with the Air eSIM in China and spends the next year pushing hold-out mobile operators in its major markets to release eSIM options for their plans that might well clear the way for Apple to go global on eSIM-only across all models for the September 2026 iPhone releases.
This makes sense. If they know next years update is minimal, of course they’re saving the good colors for that. Otherwise no one would choose them over the 17 line.Think the next year's update will be a small one. It will have the usual chip improvements and maybe a smaller dynamic island. Hope Apple will have a bright color for the Pro every year going forward. Apple's star will be their foldable in 2026.
