I get where you’re coming from but outside of the 16e and 17e Apple hasn’t made a phone with a notch in years. For the most part the pill cutout is their current design identity.

Notch or Dynamic Island are synonymous (no such thing as pill cutout) it’s all the same.

An intrusive element located in the top of the display, partially obscuring what sans either of them would be a beautiful full screen display.

Yes it’s partially styling for recognition purposes and partially functional for the components they contain, yet at the end of the day some of us find it quite annoying.

Apples design and engineering staff could easily eliminate either if they chose to. It’s not rocket science.

Might not be rocket science, but it IS physics. 🙂 The reason why no quality camera made has anything blocking light getting into it is because, as a camera, getting light is kinda it’s thing. It needs to do that to be effective.

With our modern understanding of physics, the best way to not block light to the camera is… well, to not block light to the camera. So having an area of “no display” in front of the camera is a very easy and tremendously effective way to provide a great quality selfie image.

You keep saying that and ignoring that it has been impossible so far for any manufacturer to create a quality camera or a secure FaceID system that hides behind the screen.
