So, there has been conflicting reports about variable aperture and camera upgrades being tied to the bigger Max phone.

1. Will that deter your decision to go with the Max phone if that's the case?

2. How much of a difference (if) there's any bw Pro and Pro Max will be there? (any possible discussion or educated guesses)?

3. Variable aperture is another thing and camera sensor is whole another story. According to rumours newer camera sensor will be (IMX 905), do you think that both the phones will get a newer sensor or will the 18P stick with the older sensor that we have seen since 14P?

Some rumours that are going around:

Latest one is Mark Gurman's tweet below-

Sky blue Box of 18 Pro (not max) showing a variable aperture on the box below :

The box looks off though, left side of the glass panel's width is bigger than that on the right and the camera sensor with variable aperture itself does look kinda off (maybe it's the low quality image)

So, what do you think? Will there be camera differences bw 18P and 18PM like 15P and 15PM in the past?

I switched to normal pro phone after the Max started getting heavier and bigger around 14PM so I'll definitely be sticking with Pro if cameras are the same but the feature parity is making me think again if I should go with the PM if the rumoured differences are present. I hate to see hardware differences bw both sizes.

All of this is speculation and we'll get the concrete answers on September 9th but I didn't see much discussions about this topic on forums so just wanted to see what ppl think about it.

The rumors regarding camera setup on the upcoming 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max still vary between both getting the same camera setup or the variable aperture camera being exclusive to the 18 Pro Max. Either way, we will find out for sure on the 9th when Apple makes their announcement.

As for me, I will eventually be picking up the 18 Pro because I prefer the smaller size even if it ends up not having the same camera setup as it’s bigger Max counterpart.
