What’s ironic is that the A and M series chips can output (4k) 240hz and (1080p) 360Hz to external monitors, but Apple’s Pro devices are stuck at 120Hz. With Apple coming out with the all new “Ultra” lineup we will need for them to go UltraMotion along with MacBook Ultra and Studio should have M6 Ultra chips to support the branding. It’s only right based on the premium price tag. I could see an edge to edge MacBook Ultra giving it a 15” and 17” sizes, tandem Oled touch screen, with Ultra 6 chip that should start at 64GB of RAM and 1TB for $2999 and $3699 respectively. This could be a huge success for Apple.

Most importantly all AAA games need to come to Mac as well!

Ok 120 Hz for the entry level phone 2 years from now.
What about Pro Max, when do we get 144 or 165Hz? At this point 120Hz is old news and nothing to be proud of.

6.1” screen, 4,000 Mh battery and Promotion 120 hz display for £599 is a very good deal.
They’ll add the rest of the current iPhone 17 Pro features as well and sell it for an even lower price of $499 and everyone on here will still be whining about how outrageously expensive it is, greedy Apple, etc. The comments on the 17e announcement were hilarious. People think they are entitled to the latest stuff at $299 price point.

Why comment if you don’t care?
I wanna know why people make this look like a huge thing, I see a small difference but honestly Idc and I think that 99% of people do not care too... Just that here in macrumors you will find the techy ones who care and makes it look like oh it's a huge thing !

Have you ever played games with more like 300fps on 240 Hz monitor ?)
I'm not a gamer, does this means that 120hz is for games?

So when will Apple fix the eye strain caused by low-frequency PWM dimming on its OLED screens?

Already an option on the 17 Pro. Presumably it's on its way to the others soon.

I have an iPhone 17 and I’ve decided it’s a placebo for snobby tech people as I can’t really tell the difference.
That’s fine that you can’t tell the difference, but please understand that other people can absolutely tell the difference. And it’s not, like, something that’s vaguely kind of better and you have to focus on it. I can see you swipe between you home screens once at the other side of a bus, and I’ll know if it’s a high refresh rate screen. To me it’s as obvious as something being a different color.

It's fine if it makes a difference to you. It is the constant claims that "once you go to ProMotion/120 Hz you CAN'T go back" that I'm saying is fiction. I do it multiple times a day as I have a personal iPhone 17 and use an iPhone 15 for work and it makes zero difference to me. Sometimes I forget which phone I'm using as it registers that little.

I don't see a difference on my Mac mini if set the screen to 60, 100, 120 or 144 Hz. Even the 240 Hz OLED I used for a while wasn't different.

The only missing feature that I really care about is precision finding. I don't understand why Apple refuses to include it with the 16E and now the 17E. Don't they want to sell more AirTags?

Quite possible as it is still a long time away. Maybe this will be when the e series iPhones shift to Dynamic Island and it might even have an increase in price by $100 in 2028.

My work phone is an iPhone 14, my personal phone a 16PM. I bounce between them throughout the day, and other than screen size I really don't notice a big difference in use.
