Customizable home screen: User can opt to go to standard (current) home screen with power button press and slide or customized home screen with home button press and slide.
Home screen could be user configurable:
It could contain a few choice icons, today task/ appointment list, weather,
SMS, MMS, Email status, Vmail status, missed call status, whatever the user wants

The best that can happen is that you go to a different "home screen" by running the app. Remember, background apps are not allowed =/.

Definitely an IM application, not that AOL crap they showed.

AOL's is kinda nice...I would change a few things though. Anyway, Apollo IM and MobileChat are rewriting their apps in SDK.

GPS, but I'm pretty sure this will already be on future iPhones one way or another.

Phase/TTR/Guitar Hero

Phase is really fun on regular iPods, but I don't think TTR is all that fun on iPhones... maybe if they had sweeps like on the nano^^

Actually, I just realized that it makes no sense to use the keyboard for Wheel of Fortune (cause the keyboard is only for text box input...yet in Wheel of Fortune, you only need to guess the letter once for all instances of that letter)...you can just have letters at the bottom to guess.

MobileChat and Apollo IM teams are making an SDK version...=P

Lol, iPod Classic emulator just cause you can? XD

To-Do List is probably already made =P (yeah, there's notes and calendar...but some people just want an app dedicated for to-do =P)

iPhone's camera already can take video (taking a look at the codecs and stuff)...it's just whether Apple will allow it (Video recording is already being developed by a team...whether they are allowed to release it is up to Apple).

Yeah, there's already a kind of locator in 2.0...(not that good, but without a GPS dongle, what are you gonna do?)

IMing I'm sure AOL has put landscape (MobileChat already has it)...as for Texting...will have to be Apple's job: www.apple.com/feedback

Custom EQ would require you to either play your music through the app itself, or somehow gain access to the EQ (which wouldn't be allowed since it's in jail)

Character counter for SMS would require you to have it open while the SMS is open, which means background app...right? I'm not sure if there's a command to receive data from the SMS app while it's not opened.

iPhone's bluetooth only work with headsets as of right now.

I wanna see an RTS game or an RPG game...and a full fledged one...just so I can see how the companies come up with a way to fit all that UI in that small screen =P

for Wheel of Fortune:

or, you could have the keyboard maybe with a different color/shape theme, with only the qwerty keyboard (no numbers, symbols...) and when a letter has been guessed, darken it or make it disappear from the keyboard

or maybe an MMORPG (massive multi-player role playing game) like runescape or WOW

im not sure, but it could be because it would require too much battery to be connecting all the time. and if it ran in the background it would not allow users to make or receive calls because you cant use voice and edge at the same time

EDGE would have nothing to do with iChat not working on the iPhone. As far as battery life it would work much better than 3G because it consumes dramatically less battery life. The EDGE network also has nothing to do with why Apple doesn't want more than one App running at the same time. If you've ever jailbroken, you know there are plenty of IM clients that work just fine one EDGE.

Actually, that is not entirely correct. The edge network would make it hard to IM and talk. As there cannot be an active edge connection while you are on the phone. So, you get a phone call, and get disconnected from AIM. Or you are sending messages, or fetching a new list from the server in AIM and you dont receive a phone call. I realize that this is already an issue with browsing the internet, but an AIM app would require spooling to the server quite often.

The apps demoed at the event March 6th like AOL Instant Messenger will probably be available day 1 of the apps store release right?

I would really like to see apple expand the iTunes application beyond music, and allow user to rent or buy movies. It would also be nice to be able to buy ringtones on your phone. Apple boasts about how they offer the "whole" internet, why cant they do the same with one of their own programs?

Spore is not set for release until September.
And Monkey Ball has not yet been announced as an official title.

Yeah I knew that that's why I said apps such as AIM and not games. Ahh can't wait for the apps store finally gonna have new stuff on my phone!!
