Iphone 2G back-up fail

Hi, I have a iPhone 2G on version 2.1 I decided to upgraded to 3.0. So, I have created a back-up with iTunes before I jailbreak and unlock the phone. After I jailbreak and unlock the iphone I plug it back to iTunes and then if ask me if I want to restore back to my iphone and I click yes … while the iphone was backing up … the logo apple and there is a line going like ---------------- but, near the end it stop and doesn’t go any more. The only thing I care about is the photo which I have ftp to my computer like the folders call Apple100 .. etc.. I try ftp back to the iphone but, when I go to photo is black. Is there a way to put all the photo back in order to my new iphone 2g 3.0?

Ok.. then I have did a back-up on my netbook it did the same thing... btw what is the correct way of doing a back-up? .. I just want to copy my photo back to the iphone in order? .. is there a way to do it ? I try ftp it to the iphone it didn't work!

When I ftp the photos to the iphone the display is black but, when I touch it the pics. shows up!

I don't think it's possible send a file to an iPhone via FTP.

If it's jailbreak .. ya .. u can ftp to ur iphone

I saw that on a friends 3G also.
The thumbnail is a black pic but when u click it opens up the picture fine.
Not sure what causes it. iTunes bug or firmware bug.
