iphone 2g home button

ok I bought an iphone 2g on ebay and the home button doesnt work. I also have another one .Nei ither are jailbroken .would it be possible to jaibreak the one with the working home button and then open both iphones up,transfering both top portions to each others' base and then jailbreaking the other iphone which would now have a working button .Then once they are both jailbroken I could download the ihome app to the one with the broken button. I hope that this makes sence

I would say yes if you are up to working on the 2g - harder to deal with than the 3g.
