Hi, I have an iPhone 2G in DFU mode. I don't remember what software or firmware version it had. I want to pwn it and restore it. Which ipsw firmware of the following should I take, my pwnage tool version is 3.1.4 ?? I have already tried versions 2.1, 2.2, 3.0, and I was told each time by the pwnage tool that I was using the wrong firmware bundle. Thank you very much, very kind regards, igmolinav.
Hi, I can't restore it at all. You mean, first jailbreak w/ redsnow and then restore with firmware 3.0 ?? Thank you, kind regards, igmolinav
Hi, As future reference, I just want to say that this is the tutorial that helped me to get my iPhone 2G out of DFU mode. It also unlocked it. I followed the "Expert Mode", and not the "Simple Mode" at the time to pwn. http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4255 Very kind regards, igmolinav : ) !!! Other helpful references, but not enough were the following: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4255 and http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=13380
As long as we are digging up a 2 year old thread on an obsolete phone, here's some more tutorials for 3.1.3 jailbreak and unlock: http://www.hackthatphone.com/3x/p_3_1_3_1g.html http://www.hackthatphone.com/3x/r_3_1_3_1g.html
If your 2G iphone is in DFU mode, Itunes will give you a notification that it is in recovery when you open it, just hit restore and it will upgrade/restore your iphone to 3.1.3. This is the latest firmware for 2G.
Hi, No Crystal RX, it doesn't! I am in DFU mode now! I am also trying to pwn the iPhone 2G again, and it tells me I get error -1. In November 29, 2011, when I pwned, (please see the messages above), it went well. I don't know what is wrong now. I have only updated iTunes. I had also not used the phone for a while. But, other than that, no major change! Thank you in advance, kind regards, igmolinav : ) !!!
Hi, This is the link that has saved me again! http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4255 It took some time to make it! A few times marked "error -1". The trick was at the time of pressing the "power" and "home". It may even help to hold them less than 10 seconds as it says. I think that even 8-9 seconds is ok! It took like six to seven try outs and in between the search of quite a bit of information that I had already thrown away! Thank you again, kind regards, igmolinav : ) !!!
I'm sorry for the OT, but I must commend you for using a relevant thread instead of starting a new one each time. I expect an answer in about two years
