Hello. I've looked at the various sticky posts re: pwnage etc., and searched the forums for a situation similar to mine without any results. I have an ATT family plan with a 3G iPhone and a normal cell phone. I got a hand-me-down iPhone 2G with 2.0. I'd like to be able to use the 2G to simply make calls and use wifi on it to do emails, etc. In other words, I'd like to pop the SIM from the normal cell phone into the 2G. I did this and of course it wants me to activate the phone via iTunes. Reading about unlocking/jailbreaking, it seems that you still have to activate the iPhone and you'll be charged the data plan from ATT. If I wanted the additional data plan, I'd just activate it normally. Is there a way to make my 2G (2.0) iPhone act like a normal cell phone with my current voice-only plan and then use the wifi on it to do the more data-intensive stuff? Thanks!
