Ok, so I have just downloaded OS 3.0, If I place this on my iPhone without being a developer what would happen?

Thanks!

hopefully it'll brick your phone - only developers are supposed to have this.

Seriously though, you need to register your phone's identifier with the Apple Developer Database otherwise you'll end up with a brick.

Go on, try it and post back :D

The software is designed to work only on development devices, ie an iPhone not used as your main phone. "Upgrading" is the stupidest thing you could do as a non developer, as your just doing it to see the unfinished new OS, which has no support. But by all means go ahead and brick your phone.

It will make your iPhone unusable.

Before loading the firmware you need to have someone add you UDID to their dev account so that way you can activate the phone.
