Nice, but why would anybody want to cut and paste a phone number to the keypad when simply holding down a phone number anywhere will trigger the call the number option?

because i was text'd by someone who needed someone else's phone number from my contacts.

how long usually until the 3.1 is released to the public??

I take it the developers report the bugs, then they fix it and release it?

But you can Copy a phone number from Contacts now. Try it in 3.1. The reason for Copy/Paste in Dialpad is mainly so you can "Copy" the number in the dialpad to paste it somewhere else; not to Paste even though you can.

I had the 3.0 betas. And they were fabulous. but a PITA! So I am going to just wait until 3.1 is out for everyone.

I really, really am looking forward to MMS!!!!!

I just sent an MMS video from 3GS to 3G.

Yeah I know you can send it but can you save a video to your camera roll when you receive it? With 3.0 you can only save the pics but not the video..you can view the vid but not save...

Are you talking about mms? Im already able to send and receive pics and vids with at&t. But since Im in 3.0 I can only save pics received but the option doesnt come out when I receive a vid, thats why I was wondering if on 3.1 beta if they included the option to save videos as well...

There are two groups of people who should install it.

1) Developers who are actively designing apps for the iPhone and want to test compability.

2) 12 year old boys who can't control themselves for 5 minutes to get some incremental release on their phone that probably will be a big bunch of nothing...

What about

3) Developers who want to test compatability, but are also 30year old men who can't control themselves for 5 minutes to get some incremental release on their phone that probably will be a SNAPPIER (or SLUGGIER) experience.

I'm not sure. Because I sent the video to the 3G with 3.0, I don't know if it's the iPhone or the software that will prevent copying. I will have to try it out later.

*I haven't updated the 3G to 3.1 yet.

If you can do me a favor and use your 3gs and send a vid to yourself then try to save the video like you would a pic to see if the option to save comes out thanks again in advance

Clarification on Voice Control and Bluetooth

So someone has mentioned that you can now use Bluetooth to do Voice Control, but didn't give any specifics beyond that. What level of functionality is there? Do you have to still hold the Home button on the iPhone for a few seconds to activate it and then you can speak through the BT headset? Can you push the button on your BT headset to activate Voice Control itself, meaning there is no need to touch the iPhone at all in the car? Thanks for any info you can provide.

Why do you guys read threads that make you so angry? There have to be better uses of your time.

I just tried this and no, there is no option to save. You can either play the video or 'copy' it using the c&p feature but that's it.

ive had the same problem

This is a pre-3.0 bug. I've had this happen to me in iphone os 2.0+ also.

ive had the same problem on my wifes phone playing music after taking out the headphones anyone know of a fix, i never had that problem with my phones

Have they fixed 3.0's inability to learn and remember frequent email recipients and offer them on top as you type their addressses when creating new emails?

V2 worked nicely, but this broke in v3.0....at least for me...

Why is apple calling it 3.1?
As far as I can tell, there are no real new features. Why not call it 3.0.1?
