Simply add "Playlist is Music" and that fixes the smart playlist sorting issue (presuming, of course, that you only want music in your playlists, which works for me).

Unless you can fit your whole music library on your iPhone, I think this will end up with the same result as unchecking Live Updating....?

Simply add "Playlist is Music" and that fixes the smart playlist sorting issue (presuming, of course, that you only want music in your playlists, which works for me).
A current work around is to uncheck 'live updating' for each of your smart playlists. This ensures that the list is synced across to the iPhone in the same order as on your computer. The lists will still update on your computer in a semi-live fashion (I don't really know what live updating is supposed to do in this regard), but not as you play on your iPhone.
